when it comes to sian, junhyung is obedient, kind of. he’ll complain at first, whine a little bit but at the end of the day, sian gets what she wants. it wasn’t the first time she interrupted him flirting with a girl and it probably wouldn’t be the last either. “ow!” his face contorts into a pained expression, “why does someone your size have so much power?!” he whines, his hand shooting up to rub at the spot she pinched. “I can barely do anything with you watching me like a hawk.” he complains indignantly, “you shouldn’t be on my mom’s side, noona. be on my side!” junhyung sulks, with a teeny weeny bit of aegyo, something he likes to pull out around sian. “be on my side, me, your favourite cousin!”
sian might’ve ruined things for him but he can’t say that he hated it. it might be his own twisted way of making everything about him, or his unbelievably positive mindset about things, but he kind of enjoyed her butting into his business. it made him feel good to know someone cared enough to keep him in check — he was always left alone during events like this and naturally, he busied himself with whatever he deems fun, alcohol and girls. but tonight, he had sian too, and it’s not like she wasn’t already busy enough on her own. she had to entertain the media and other important people, she was seo yumi for god’s sake, she would have better things to busy herself with but she chose him. she could also just easily wave him over from a distance and he’d leave that girl without a second thought but of course, they wouldn’t be sian and junhyung if they didn’t go through that scuffle.
junhyung scrunches his face, pretending to dislike the comment about him being “super super cute”, only because he’s no longer the child sian thinks he is but really, he secretly enjoys it when she babies him like that. he fails to suppress his growing smile at her words, “you make me sound like a baby but I’ll let it go, just because it’s you.” his smile renders into a goofy grin, “then again, I guess you’re right. I am pretty cute, huh.” he jokes, preening at himself in the mirror behind them. he quickly snaps his attention back to sian with a cocky grin, “she could be bad but I’ll be good enough to make up for it.” he adds shamelessly, “so it wouldn’t be that big a loss but well, I’ve already resigned to fate and accepted that I will not be getting a girl tonight. so you can’t complain about me sticking to you for the rest of the night!” he grabs her arm, dragging her to the dessert station — nothing sobers him up like a good ol’ sweet treat. “please, it’s sian noona over any girl for me.” he’s a sweet-talker alright, but it’s not a reach, he does have his favourites and sian was one of them. “besides, you’re the prettiest girl here today and I’m not saying this because you’re my favourite cousin.”
“i gain strength when i see you acting like that. don’t you already get enough of that as is?” she questions because as much as she loves to baby junhyung, as much as she loves to still think of him as the starry-eyed toddler who was basically her shadow at almost every family event, she wasn’t stupid. his reputation was too colossal for her to even try to ignore, despite the various attempts at it. “good. if it wasn’t me, who else would make sure you’re not getting into to much trouble, huh? i’d have someone watching over you twenty-four-seven if i could!” junhyung does have more freedom than she would like, and she doesn’t even want to think about the mess that he gets into behind her back. luckily for him, sian can’t hold her temper -- especially whenever he starts to act so adorable seen by the way the frown upon her face twitches with amusement, “hey, hey -- that’s like, so completely unfair to pit yourself against your mom, you can’t do that! and maybe i’d be on your side more if you just gave in to being cute,” she mentions as her finger moves to lightly boop his nose, “it’s more fitting on you, and girls like cute guys! i do, at least.”
she almost lets out a snort at his words -- had she not caught herself, tucking a finger underneath her nostrils to stop it, she just might have. “jun, you’re like, twenty. you are a baby. you still are a baby. super baby. just one parading around in a tie trying to do adult stuff,” and that’s how he would always remain in her eyes, especially with his young looks and demeanor. although she could definitely see the charm within as well, how he seems to have girls wrapped around his finger with his smile alone, it’s still astonishing how wide his reign across the campus reaches. he’s getting cocky and it’s enough for sian to roll her eyes, hand reaching upward to lightly push his head while he’s distracted by his own looks. it shouldn’t have been a surprise, honestly speaking, though she mumbles an oh my god anyway.
eyebrows furrow at junhyung’s next set of words and she wants to say that’s not how it works -- but she stops herself because, again, the last conversation she wants to have with her baby cousin is one about the technicalities of sex. anything about his sex life she would prefer to avoid at all costs. “what’s there to complain about, hmm? if you’re gonna be like this, i should start crashing your dates more often! and you know, i think i will -- the excessive ones, at least,” sian makes sure to stay close, little legs working overtime to keep up with his long strides. though he does cause her to laugh as he lays it on thick, causing her to think that it must be a family thing to be heavy with the compliments. “mmh, you’ve always been a smart boy -- you know that flattery will get you everywhere with me. what do want, huh? my life savings? one of my cars? or one of my friend’s numbers? the first two you can have, maybe.” and she jokes chuckling while gaze travels downwards to the delectables upon the table. picking up a small pastry with a hand, she brings it up to junhyung’s mouth with curiosity within her eyes, prodding him with it, “say aaah ~ give it a taste! i need to know if it’s good or not.”
