in another life i could have been a regarded taxonomist for sure. i’d probably want to specialize in asteraceae for part of my career because i like looking at those guys and the genera are massive so it’s a challenge. it’s not too late it’s just that i want to spend my time growing food. and anyway if i Were to do a traditional botany education i’d go more conservation career than academic. but doing survey quadrats in the field does sound fun
