Ezra lofted an eyebrow at the final words, “Why would anyone ask for mercy? Yes, I see the point, but the idea of begging usually comes with it.” In Ezra’s mind, begging, and asking for mercy were the same thing.

 One couldn’t come with out the other and they were in essence together, “How do you know if someone is weak or not?” He ended up asking with out realizing it.

Kanan took a couple steps towards him, placing his hands on his shoulders gently. “I know…its hard Ezra.” He told him, his voice gentle. “But don’t make this decision for Tari or I, don’t make it for what we want.” He told him. “In the end, it has to be for you.” He told him. “It has to be for what you really want, where you want to be. Not for Tari, not for me or the Empire or the Rebellion. It’s for you.”

Ezra knew the decision, would in-itself be a hard one. If anything, he had to make this choice only for him, and him alone. Yet, it wasn’t possible ---- if anyone found out, they would want him back or dead, and he couldn’t risk that nor, did he want to. He wasn’t just confused, but he also didn’t know what to do as well.

“Is it? Everyone seems to be concerned about what I do, but what about me? What say do I have if I chose one or another --- I know what I want, but I can’t make the decision.”

Kanan put a hand to his forehead, letting out another long breath. “It…will be complicated.” He told him. “Not even counting the way Tari views me.” He shook his head again. “You know she hates me right?” 

“You are allowed to come back, you haven’t done anything that can’t be undone.” He said. “Ezra, this is the Empire. You have to remember everything they’ve done.” He stressed. He sighed again and shook his head. “Ezra…you…have to listen to your heart…let the Force guid you…where it leads you, only you can decide.”

Ezra knew fully well that it was the Empire --- he knew what they had done and he knew what they were capable of. Yet, this also was Tari, he couldn’t just turn away from her, but also he couldn’t turn away from Kanan.

It simply was, in short, confusing, and he didn’t know what direction to turn. He was obviously lost as he lowered his head for a few moments, “I know what they have done, but my heart? It’s confused..... I can’t just chose... even if I chose you? Tari would come after me and I can’t face that. I also can’t face the risk of you coming after me.... I just can’t.”

“In a way I suppose…” Kanan said then gave a small chuckle and shrugged. “No…I don’t believe he did..” He mused. “I’ll admit…I’d be hard pressed to let you leave.” He said. “I ran away…ran away from the formation of the Empire..” and the Rebellion.

“He was, it took a little while for him to…warm up to me, but were were a good team while it lasted.” He then sighed and crossed his arms over his chest. “It’s…hard to say…a lot happened towards the end of the war…maybe we both would have been caught up in the massacre..”

“You couldn’t get rid of me if you tried, Kanan.” He teased lightly, “It took a while for you to even train me as well --- always that you will do it later or tomorrow.” He huffed, “Then you finally started, but with rocks.”

“At least it’s better than what you were doing before, but... I have to ask.” There was a pause, “What happened between you two? You rarely say anything about him... I mean, it’s not like he tried to kill you during the end of the war, right?”

Kanan absently rubbed at his chest, feeling a scar under his shirt from a blaster bolt. “He’s a bit more rash…perhaps you should be thankful we’re not actually in a full scale war.” He gave a dry chuckle.

He nodded, “He’s very skilled,” he agreed. “I learned a lot from him about lightsaber combat.”

“Maybe.” He muttered out lightly, “He just seems a bit... off. More focused on fighting then actually training. Not that I mind, but I would rather have rocks thrown at me.”

He then rubbed the back of his neck for a few moments, “What would happen if we were in a full war? Do you think it would be any different?”

Ahsoka laughed softly and rolled her eyes “No she didn’t besides I decided to let he do what she will with it.” she sighed “I just hope it’s not all too… bright.” she looked him over “Any sparring you want to do?” she asked needing a distraction.

“She always does things bright.” he muttered out as he then rolled his eyes, “As for sparring? I’m fine for now --- might end up going back to sleep or... crawling around the vents more.” He shrugged, “Doesn’t really matter.”

— Force Unleashed —

    “Do not try anything, you’re of no use to me dead.” He warned. Starkiller didn’t have a say in that matter, he wouldn’t really dispose of them unless it was absolutely necessary– but his master would forbid such defiance. The young man then proceeded to walk down the corridor, not really giving more conversation after that to the boy.. or really anyone else. He ignored the Stormtroopers and Imperial officers that roamed the same halls, most not bothering with why the captive was out.

   Galen glanced back a little to Ezra, hard golden eyes peering down at him before returning his attention towards the bay door opening. Starkiller could sense something radiating from around him, the familiar sensation the force used many times.. surely he’d be of some good use. Upon entering the ship bay he spotted the Rogue Shadow near an Imperial Tie-fighter and made a bit faster pace with the boy.

   A woman wearing a black Imperial uniform stood by the landing hatch and quickly took notice of the sith and company. Galen addressed her as ‘Juno’ and informed her of their departure without even stopping, entering the ship. She looked towards Ezra and gave a slight nod to head inside. 

   “Best not keep him waiting.”

       Honestly, Ezra knew the best thing possible was keeping his head down, it wouldn’t be easy, but it was easier than asking questions. At the words from Galen, a simple nod was given as he chewed on the inside of his lip. It was easier to do that then ask any questions --- keeping his mind distracted was a must.

           There was no choice in this matter at hand, Ezra knew that he couldn’t escape, and he couldn’t run --- following was the only way to get anywhere. Yet, there was something about the other he couldn’t place and it was terrifying. It wasn’t the man itself, but he could simply feel that this wasn’t a good situation to be in, but there was no escape. 

            Everything would be done in time, waiting, and following would be the answer. Waiting not just for Galen to say something else, but also to know why he was being taken by the other. In reality, he knew that it wasn’t going to be easy whatever happened, but he hoped that his head would remain in-tact.

               A deep breath escaped his lips as he gave a nod to Juno, but he didn’t say a word as he made his way inside. After-all, this was the Empire, and not the streets of Lothal.

“Not sure what I’m, uh, we’re gonna tell Kanan. I’m not even sure how he’s gonna be able to help.” Ezra thought, hard. Maybe they could ask Ahoska? He was so deep in thought that he almost didn’t realise how… cold he seemed. How cold it had turned ever since this Ezra had appeared. Ezra dropped the other Ezra’s hand.

“S-so, uh, how’s the Empire and Rebellion in your universe…?” Ezra asked, awkwardly, and slightly worried.

“Then same as it is here.” Ezra answered with a shrug, “I would say things are the same.... Empire is slowly destroying the Rebellion.... it might be a bit different. Kanan, from my universe doesn’t exactly like me... a disagreement of sorts.”

It was then he bit his lower lip for a moment, “Kanan might...be nervous or worse --- we are both the real Ezra, but..” He chuckled lightly, “Just not the same... Dark and Light.”

Scurrying after Ezra towards the chaos, Threepio clutched the branch as if he was going to do something. 

“Oh dear… Combat is the last of the things I’m programmed for.”

“Really Threepio , you don’t need to fight --- I can handle this.” Well, he did hope he could handle it, but then again.... he didn’t quite know if simply handling it would do anything. After-all, it was absolute chaos and he knew that getting the situation under-control wasn’t going to be easy, but he could try, “Just stay behind me,”

“Let’s check that noise out.”

“You can if you want, but—-kriffing hell knock it off over there.”

“Really, there’s no need to see what it is. I know exactly who is over there, and they need to knock it off. Do you hear me? Kriffing knock it off.”

“Uh-huh. Would you mind telling me who it is? I mean, they do seem to be making a fuss of sorts --- more than usual.”

Tari hummed softly as she moved about her room, pausing when she heard the knock on the door. Turning, she moved to tug open the door. “Of course I’m here, Ez’ika. Is there something you need?”

Ezra rubbed the back of his neck for a few moments, “I want to talk.... about Kanan. I... I don’t know how to put this and I know you hate him, but can we at least... talk?” It was more Ezra wanted to get a few things straight, but he doubted it would be easy... it never was when talking about the crew of the ghost.

     Removing her hand from his shoulder, Ahsoka crossed her arms gently once more. “Now that is something I would’ve wanted to see.” She replied, laughing just a little with a small smile.

     “Not much, in all honesty.” The togruta replied to the question, thinking for a moment. “There’s nothing I really have to do right now.”

A faint chuckle escaped his lips, “She does it all the time --- I remember when she pained Zeb’s room. We didn’t hear about it for days.” Well, it was more both Ezra and Zeb’s fault, but that was besides the point.

“I well..” He rubbed the back of his head, “I was just doing nothing --- avoiding Kanan actually. You know, work, training, and cleaning up the Ghost.”

Oh, Kanan would be sure to get out of there by then. He wasn’t about to be caught in Imperial hands again.

He let out a breath and rubbed the back of his neck with both hands. He frowned and shook his head a few times. “We tried to be your family Ezra.” He couldn’t help but feel hurt and betrayed. “I…can’t make the choice for you, just know…you can always come back.” Before its to late.

“What kind of third option are you thinking?” He asked wearily.

Ezra let out a deep breath, the options were not easy, but he knew each choice had their own consequences. The only problem was he had to chose and to, he knew that he had to actually keep a clear head.

“I...I know it might not be an easy option, but what if I chose both? I think of both you and Tari as family, but... it won’t be easy. I want to go back to the Ghost, I really do --- yet, I know it’s not possible, and I doubt I would ever be allowed to.”

Ezra then rubbed the back of his head for a few moments, “I don’t know where I belong, Kanan. If it’s with you... or them...”

A laugh left him and he shook his head a little. “No…we have...different approaches when it comes to teaching.” He mused, scratching at his beard. He frowned a little at the mention of lightening. “A skill he didn’t have when he was teaching me.” He grumbled under his breath.

“Mmhh,” he nodded as he said he got what he went through. “I know it’s…different, but its good to learn from more than just one teacher.” He explained. If only Ahsoka was still with them…he still had things to learn himself.

“Don’t worry, I’ll get back to throwing rocks at you.” He said with a slight grin on his face.

“Throwing rocks at me is easy --- all he seems to be doing is wanting me to best him.” Ezra then rolled his eyes, “How could you even get through training with him? Next thing I know, he might use me as target practice for Imperials...or a human shield.”

A chuckle then escaped his lips, “It might be good to learn from another teacher, but I can say one thing... he can fight.”
