[SOUL huffs indignantly at the idea of playing with another Chao. Like as if she'd play. Instead, she sniffs the hedgehog's person for anything to eat.]

She’d always had a thing for chao, really — she’d contemplated getting an egg on more than one occasion, and she’d be lying if she said she hadn’t entertained the thought recently, but she was saving for college. Maybe another mouth to feed wasn’t in her budget.
Oooh, hi! Aren’t you a cute one?
[SOUL waddled a bit closer to Amy upon seeing she was friendly and she wasn't making it out as if she had to be touched. She snorted at the 'cute' namer that the pink hedgehog placed on her, but she would be teaching her a thing or two over time. Everyone made that mistake, anyway. Being separated from Chaos made them a little lacking in the understanding department.]
Chao.
[Her intonation was mellow, almost orderly. She wanted the hedgehog to state her name like she would someone new she was meeting.]

A Chao? Where did it come from? Shadow took a quick glance around, there didn’t seem to be anyone who owned the chao in sight and it looked… Almost exactly like him. Could it be an alternate of his owned this Chao? There was no one else in sight but him and it. Oh well, the hedgehog actually happened to like chao, he didn’t know why but there was just something about the little creatures he liked. This one in particular seemed a little… Angry? Alas, Shadow hadn’t realized that he was the reason for this.
"Hey there little… Guy?" What did one say to a Chao anyway?
[If SOUL knew that Shadow was considering who could possibly own her, she would scoff. She wasn't a pet by any means; she decided to allow herself in someone else's presence and that was it. And maybe pet her, if they were lucky enough. Good behavior was on her terms and her terms only. After all, she was one of Chaos's favorite subjects. She had a reason to brag.
She wasn't sure what she was more insulted by, the fact she was being referred to as a 'guy' or the fact that she was called 'little'. She puffed out her chest in order to make herself look bigger, and her expression turned more cross, this time not in mocking.]
Chaaao...
[That was her expressing her frustration at the terminology. Shadow should be bowing down.]

…To which the squirrel just stares. Nope, he’s never seen a creature like this before in his life, and he doesn’t know what it is. Instead, he chooses to sit down, an eyebrow slowly raising.
[At least this squirrel isn't making any noise. SOUL has heard that they have high pitched voices.
She navigates to the spot next to him and takes a seat, glancing up at him. Is it going to speak? She even decides to poke him, just in case he makes a noise as a result.]

[Squirrel. Banged up, icky smelling squirrel, too. The Chao backed up from him a little bit. Better not get too close, she knew squirrels were biters.]

[SOUL had never met her species name sake, but now that she had, she couldn't understand the resemblance. He totally had a pout on his face. How undignified.
She crossed her arms as if imitating his pose, narrowing her little beady eyes. This was funny.]

[An echidna, huh. Being inclined toward Chaos, SOUL wasn't exactly fond of echidnas, even though she knew how closely linked they could be. She kept her distance, ears tilted forward almost aggressively. The little Shadow Chao was wary.]

[SOUL gave Amy's hand a disdainful sniff, even more pronounced at the implication of her being lost. Of course she wasn't lost! She knew exactly where she was. She just didn't have a place that she stayed in, and that was okay. She didn't want to stay in one place, anyway.
She twisted her head in defiance, her 'arms' crossed, little paws gripping as much as they could. Lost? No. She wasn't helpless. This pink hedgehog should in fact be grateful she decided to grace her with her presence.]

[Huh? A Chao? What’s he or she doing out here all by themself so late at night?
Heehee. It’s super cute, though— looks juuuust like Shadow! Amy crouches down to get a better look. She doesn’t reach out to pet it just yet, though— Not all Chao liked being all lovey-dovey. Heck, Cheese of all Chao had taken some time to warm up to her. She’d get to know the little guy or gal first.]
Hi, there. What’re you up to so late at night? Gettin’ into trouble? Heheh.
[SOUL tilts her head to the side. She doesn't think she's getting into trouble; in fact, for the most part she'd been trying to remain inconspicuous. It's okay for the pink hedgehog to make that mistake, though. After all, most of SOUL's language is beyond a normal hedgehog's comprehension. They never tried to connect with Chaos, and that's okay. She doubts the god has any time for them, anyway.
She tries to put this in levels that a hedgehog could understand by shrugging. She doesn't know what she's up to other than that she's curious. She takes a sniff at Amy's dress, her tail flicking behind her.]

She stares up at them, tilting her head. She doesn't want to touch them, but at the same time her curiosity is getting the better of her.]
