What a cunning boy you are.
when will said “i need you, please,” hannibal was trying so hard not to burst out of that straight jacket
They zoomed in on his face during that scene because of the boner :/

I love the fact that Hannibal and Will always talk so fondly and intensely about each other's minds.
Will describes Hannibal's mind as a hot darkness to Bedelia in s3. Hannibal says that Will's has a fevered sweetness in s1. He calls Will's imagination beautiful and remarkable multiple times. And then the ''The way other minds can't.'' ''Yours can.'' dialogue... The ''I can feed the caterpillar'' scene in 2x08, too. There are multiple scenes of Will explaining to others how Hannibal's mind works, because he's the only one who understands, and he always does it with a particular softness. Quiet admiration.
There is even a scene in s2 I believe where he says ''we can all learn from Hannibal's mindset, in a way'' (or something like that) to Jack. Who then stares at him with an 'are you crazy?' face until Will corrects himself. Other characters (Alana and Jack, for example) talk about how only Will understand Hannibal and sees a beauty in it no one else sees. In s1 Bedelia and Hannibal talk about Will's state of mind and sometimes along the lines of ''I want to contain Will's madness, like an oil spill.'' is said.
Will is the only one with access to Hannibal's memory palace. He sees the structures in Hannibal's mind, mirroring the Norman chapel, and sees it as it as the grandiose and layered thing it really is. Hannibal, on his part, has seen Will's potential for becoming his ''partner in crime''/the man he has become in The Wrath of the Lamb from the beginning. He saw potential, and thus beauty (because for Hannibal Lecter what is potential if not beauty?) and that way ''helped'' Will become his true, authentic self.
No wonder Hannibal tries to eat Will's brain. No wonder Will looks so calm and at peace whenever he's inside Hannibal's mind palace. Each other's minds are the best and most interesting places for them to be.

Original vs After Editing
Hell times.
Thinking again about how Will showed the “worst” version of himself to Hannibal time and time again, and it only made Hannibal want him more at each instance. It was Will’s attempts at normality that drove Hannibal to anger. He saw the darkest versions of Will and begged him for more. The ugly was breathtaking. The imperfections that drove others away, drew Hannibal in. He only ever wanted the truth of Will.
