i have this friend who is the kindest person ever. she is always willing to listen and be there for me, she is smart and resourceful. she makes me laugh and makes me want to be a better person.

shahd, my friend, has dreams of finishing school, perhaps something different from accounting (which she did before). one day, she wants to start a family with her husband, they are very happy together.

she is beautiful in and out, she is so eloquent and her words make me smile and happy to know someone so sweet.

this is her.

shahd is currently residing in khan younis, gaza (palestine). she is originally from rafah and has been displaced many times. her husband lost his pharmacy and with it their source of income. their home was destroyed and their belongings gone.

her husband is injured and they have witnessed countless horrors in the past years. they are hungry, starving even. they have been traumatized by the gen0cide and yet they persevere.

i want shahd to have a dignified, full, happy, long, healthy life. for all her dreams to come true and to never have to worry for her safety. i pray for this every day.

in order for her to have this future, any future, she needs our help.

This hand belongs to Shahd, after making lunch. A lunch consisting of a little cup of lentils, now don’t get me wrong, Shahd is a wonderful cook and makes the most out of what she has. However, there is next to nothing left..

The Isra*li occupation has blocked all the borders, meanwhile enough aid to feed all off G*za is waiting.

This has been going on for months. The exhaustion, fear, trauma, pain, thirst and the immense hunger.

You might have read what it feels like to starve, this is not just a theory, all of G*za is experiencing it as I write. I know it’s hard not to feel helpless but there is hope. You can show up for Shahd, she needs us.

A donation to this campaign will help her buy food (the prices are extremely inflated), water and medicine. She cannot do this without our help. Now is the time.

can you imagine what it is like to be hungry? not just for a day but for months? to feel your body literally starving and fighting to stay alive? not only that but you have lost your house, your work, school, every part of your life that grounds you or gives you a sense of purpose is taken away and destroyed. there is barely any shelter to protect you from the weather, let alone the drones, missiles and shots..

exhaustion and fear live constantly inside you, every day might be your last. you get orders to move to a different place but that is just likely to kill you as where you are now. you see your loved ones suffer or you lose them completely.

can you imagine? my words can only describe a little of what my friend, shahd, is going through in g@za. she is in her early twenties and has plans for her future. she wants to continue her education, to start a life with her husband and live a normal life.

all of that seems impossible now but it doesn’t have to be. we can help shahd get her next meal or find shelter.

my friend deserves the world and i can only offer her pennies.

i beg of you to help her out, shahd deserves to live.

Look at the tragedy that my husband, Dr. Badr, and I are going through 💔😞

Yes, it is our source of livelihood that was gone in the blink of an eye.. It is the fatigue of years that my husband waited for for years, his dream that he spent his life waiting to come true and open his pharmacy and practice his profession that he loves 😭!

We have nothing left for me and my husband, our home, our place of love, and our warm refuge has been destroyed and razed to the ground, and also the fatigue of years and the source of income, the pharmacy that we waited to open for years, was destroyed 🥺

Now he and I are suffering from the loss of everything from our home and our source of income!

"We Haven't Known Joy Yet..."

My name is Shahd, a girl from Rafah, a city that has tasted war and pain since the day I was born. Near the Philadelphi Corridor, life was simple yet filled with love. I dreamed of finishing my university studies, finding a job that would make me proud, and building a happy family with the one I love.

I married Badr, the love of my life. He’s a pharmacist who owned a small pharmacy where he spent hours helping others and easing their pain. Our wedding was modest—no grand celebrations, just love binding us together and hopes for a brighter future.

But war does not let dreams flourish. Just days after our wedding, an order came: "Evacuate immediately!" We left everything behind—our memories, our hard work, our home. Then came the airstrikes. Our house was destroyed, along with Badr’s pharmacy, where he worked tirelessly, and even my university, where I had spent years pursuing my education, was turned to rubble.

We’ve moved from place to place, city to city, fleeing the death that seems to chase us. Now, we live in a tent in Khan Younis. A small tent that barely shelters us from the cold and rain. Badr tries to stay strong, but I see him every night staring into the void, as if asking himself, "Why did all of this happen?"

We’re living in unbearable conditions. Food is scarce, water barely sufficient, and my dream of motherhood is on hold because we don’t even have enough to sustain ourselves. We haven’t had the chance to celebrate our marriage or feel a single day of happiness.

Today, I’m reaching out to you, with a heart weighed down by pain, to ask for your help. We need everything: food, water, medicine, and clothing. We need a chance to rebuild, to dream again, to live a life worthy of our humanity.

Every donation, no matter how small, can make a huge difference in our lives. Every share of our story could reach someone with the ability to help. You are the only hope we have after God.
