Sometimes I wish I could open up more.
But trauma has a way of teaching you silence.
You start to realize that not everyone who asks "Are you okay?" really wants to know the answer.
You learn that being vulnerable is a risk because some people take your softness and twist it, use it, leave when they promised they wouldn’t.
People say they’re right there for you. They don’t.
People say they understand. They don’t.
So you start building walls where you once had open doors. You stop sharing, even when it hurts, because it’s safer that way.
But here's the thing: none of that has hardened my heart.
I honestly love to see people happy and succeeding.
When I help someone, I merely want to see them win. I don’t expect anything in return and have no ulterior motive.
Life is so damn hard, so if you're reading this, I'm rooting and praying for you to win.
