I saw this post and spontaneously had the idea of a pond nymph falling in love with an old garden statue

Her pond had been empty for a while now. The people had taken all the fish. Birds didn’t come by so much anymore. To be honest she was lonely. They had built a city around her pond, but she was lonely. She couldn’t talk to the people that had taken all of her friends. The fish in the pond, the trees that dipped their branches so the leaves floated on the water surface, and the daffodils that had grown along the edge. They had taken all of that away in favor of white stone tiles and tall stone buildings. They threw coins in her pond, little round circles of metal sinking into the moss coated floor until she could bury them.
