This stack of toy cars you leave in my shoes; the furry plastic rabbits lined up in the cabinet, next to the cereal; the dolls sitting around a cardboard box in the living room, waiting for you to return to make them real again; these are the reminders I need: a message from the future reminding me to enjoy the past, especially now, while it's still the present.

This is Max. He likes weekends. We adopted him 8 years ago. He was living under a car in South Central LA when he was brought to the shelter. He is the nicest, kindest, sometimes stupidest, most loving, squirrel chasingest dog ever. There are thousands of dogs like him waiting for someone to come save them from a crappy life they don't deserve.
