in-progress/rough sketch: "every jack has his jill".
a scene from charles perrault's "donkeyskin", a variation of the cinderella tradition. watercolor, ink, and digital.
illustration for the steadfast tin soldier by hans christian andersen. ink & watercolor on hot press arches, 10"x10".
and then i started inking it on cold press watercolor paper (in colored inks, naturally).
a sketch for my next assignment... already started the inkwork! i haven't done a watercolor in a while, so this should be interesting.
illustrating tangible opposites- passive, and aggressive. i chose the wolf in sheep's clothing metaphor. graphite and digital color. both are 7" x 7."
done for my friend mike sugarman's music blog; he wanted an illustration he could post along with links to downloads of his album, "songs about guns". mike's music is ambient and strange, like the soulful eyes of this dog in a lobster costume.
my interpretation of peter pan's "ticking crocodile". watercolor & ink on hot press arches.
there ain't no party like a witch hunt party...
acrylic, decoupage-y collagey-ness & digital.
more sketchbook fodder. tavi gevinson's bow.
and of course, the armadillo shoe...
sketchbook nonsense
my boyfriend's dad and his brother, travis, are always concocting tasty tasty swills. this is for their home brew, twin anchors. graphite & digital. and notably, my first paid freelance job.
