Velcro Experimentation

Experimenting with different ways to present my Velcro element on the print. This technique was simple and effective, it allowed me to make the print interactive and playful.

Print Experimentation

I decided to experiment with Gutta to add 3 D elements while only creating a slight colour. I wanted to do this to show that there were subtle changes taking place on the North however nothing significant was happening fast.

After screen printing the design I then decided to add colour and detail by painting into the print, adding bright colours to show the enjoyment childhood can bring.

This is my completed t-shirt. I am happy with the results of my t-shirt and the outcome, I feel it represents childhood as a whole and is interactive.

Postcards

For my collection I have decided to create some postcards that represent my overall collection. Adding textures such as stitching and tissue paper adds depth.

Mining Print Ideas

After looking into mining in the local area, I decided to design some prints that I could later develop. Some designs would be suitable as they’re scaleable however my favourite is the work boot because I feel it gets the fight miners had to face with the strikes.

Illustration Board Layout

When looking at possible ways to present my illustrations I decided to look at how to use tissue paper and fabric from my collection and how to put it into my boards. From this I created 4 rough layouts of what I could use by having different size fabric, tissue paper and incorporating my print.

After looking at different options I felt that using fabric and the print would be the best fit and bring my whole collection together.
