An... Interesting drink from Santiago's Bodega here in Orlando, Fl. Kind of too heavy on the coconut shavings, but I appreciate the attempt. Above, our food orders- a delicious duck served over an apple hash and an extremely interesting octopus dish that my gluten-conscious friend ordered herself. It was pretty dark inside, but the decor was pretty and visually nourishing. I'd never been before, but it's very close to the Matador and I will be coming back!

Writing is a rough gig. Get paid where you can. Here’s a bunch of places that will pay professional rates for genre (fantasy/science fiction/horror) short stories. All these markets take (and actually publish) unsolicited submissions – you don’t need an agent, and you don’t need to have previously published works.Â
Remember to format your shit, write a simple cover letter, don’t send the same story to more than one place at a time, make sure submissions windows are actually open, and never respond to rejection letters ever. Have fun!

Long time since I last posted!
Here’s a selection of pics from my most recent stay at the Loews Portofino Bay Hotel in Orlando, FL. These pictures don’t do the holiday decorations justice- this is the perfect time to go, before the holiday rush. They’re doing special Chanukah candle lighting from the 12th through the 20th and they have other special events with Santa and for the New Year as well!
No food pics this time because I got there after dinner and I had breakfast at the onsite Starbucks, lol.

In the continuing quest to eat every nacho in the world, here we have two plates of nachos: green plate is from the Galaxy Bowl bar upstairs at the Cabana Bay Beach Resort, random banana nachos are from the poolside Hideaway Bar and Grille at the Cabana Bay. We also went to Fun Spot Orlando​ and got the soda cups, ending up at Del Taco for dinner. We didn't get nachos at Del Taco, and also wolfed our food down too quickly to identify it on sight.
