Most cities are utterly unfriendly to people with disabilities ā but with almost one billion estimated to be urban-dwellers by 2050, a few cities are undergoing a remarkable shift
"And yet, cities benefit from accessibility. One World Health Organisation study described how, like Meere, disabled people are less likely to socialise or work without accessible transport. Cities also miss out on economic gains: in the UK the āpurple poundā is worth Ā£212bn, and the accessible-tourism market an estimated Ā£12bn."
And I've said this a crazy number of times. Batofkos, does anyone really care until they find themselves disabled or aged? Nooooope.
Lemme just say that this write-up is beautiful.
[Five Panel Holiday Illustrated Comic titled āBe The Miracleā.
Panel 1 Description: Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer is sitting on stool, in a bowtie and blazer. He has just finished a seminar on āBe the Miracleā. He says āAnd thatās how you can be your own Christmas Miracle. Now Iāll take any questions. Letās start with you ladies in the front.ā
Panel 2 Description: The shot is a close-up of Jessicaās face, as she slides down her glasses with one eyebrow raised in the air. This action has been marked āPower Moveā. Jessica says to Rudolf āSo what youāre saying is, unless someoneās condition is useful to society, they wonāt find a purpose?ā
Panel 3 Description: A close up shot of Rudolfās face. He is sweating, and nervous. He responds to Jessica āBut they loved me⦠I-I-I help save x-mas⦠Youāre missing the p-ā
Panel 4 Description: The scene cuts off Rudolfās answer, with a close up of Lianna. She is also in glasses, doing the same Power Move. She adds āAnd honestly if your father had just accepted you as you are, then would you have needed Santaās approval?ā
Panel 5 Description: The scene cuts back to Rudolf and the girls in the front row. Heās crying uncontrollably, whilst pooping. He says between sobs āOh youāre right!! Whyy didnāt you love me papa?!ā. The girls are sitting in the front row with their arms crossed, and say āThatās right. Let it all out.ā]
YOU WERE BEAUTIFUL BEFORE THEY FOUND YOU USEFUL RUDOLF. Donāt let societyās ableism of your condition get you down, we love you boo-boo.
Also, happy holidays to all of our wonderful followers, from The Disabled Life!!Ā
Youāre such an inspiration to have virtually no physical obstacles! How you get up in the morning, just amazes me. Thank you for being you.
If disabled people spoke to abled people the way they do to us. (via thedisabledlife)

yes Nam was the true revolutionary, not Curtis, and donāt stop talking about that
but remember
Nam was one of the builders of the system. It was an Inuit woman who changed his mind and gave him the idea that they could leave the train
It was a WOC who realized they could destroy the system and still survive
And it was Yona who gave him the motivation to do so!
Lord Buttface
We encountered a rude npc who later turned out to be kinda evil. His name is Lord Barclay.
Paladin, upon meeting him: Pleased to meet you, Lord Barkley.
Later npc, as we investigate a murder: I did meet a rude noble looking fellow. Paladin: Ah yes, Lord Barday, weāve met him too.
Other npc we investigate: Are you with the lordly man I met earlier? Paladin: No, Lord Shankley is still a suspect.
Paladin: Have you met a rude nobleman named Lord Blimey recently?
When Barclay confronts us before we fight him: Youāre in the way of my bounty! Paladin: Stop right there, Barney!
After he escapes, we head back to the city. Paladin, to a guard: Let us know if you see Lord Badcramp.
Paladin, to the ruler of the city: We fear Lord Buttface is dangerous and on the loose.
Why Spider-Man is a city person.
This is awesome. Momoa is the man!
Casting Jason Mamoa as Aquaman has been nothing short than absolutely genius.
