The Evans Family is a second generation money. The Family owns multiple Country Clubs around the country and continue to expand further. Vance and Darby Evans actually attended East High School in their youth. Darby came from an upper-middle class family while Vance’s family was slowly rising in class. Darby was an aspiring actress in her youth and was always an avid fan of the arts, while Vance grew to appreciate it later in life due to his wife’s love for it. The reason why Sharpay and Ryan attend East High School instead of a private school is solely out of alumni pride from their parents.

sharpay is very controling about most aspects of her life, and needs everything to roll according to her. and that includes her romantic life, in the sense of she has this certain perfil of what type of people she allows herself to feel interest in. is a very shallow way to go about it, but her partner needs to complement her, never outshine her and definetly not be someone "lower" than her. if she ever develops a crush on someone that she doesn't think is good enough for her, she can get extra mean/nasty.

after high school sharpay starts to watch basketball. it all starts when she's channel surfing in her apartment during her first year in new york. she's bored out of her mind and nothing really interesting is on. she ends up on the sports channel and end up watching the final half of a game without even thinking much of it, being just slightly irritated. over time, she catches herself watching it occasionally a few times more until it becomes a sort of guilty pleasure. she won't ever admit it but it makes her a little less homesick.
