lizard people is the most benign possible antisemitism but for some reason it hits me harder than overtly malicious antisemitism, i think bc it’s The Case Study of how easily an antisemitic trope can just become a normal part of everybodys vocab and after that ppl will fight you endlessly on whether or not its actually antisemitic
i think also, to people who are not familiar with antisemitism (through experience or study or both), antisemitism often comes across as cartoonish or wildly antiquated, so that people are inclined to dismiss it as toothless. i mean, lizard people is super fucking silly. or, people don’t really believe jews drink the blood of christian children anymore, that’s medieval. then its on jews to put in the legwork pointing out the use of lizard people to describe zuckerberg’s physical appearance, how qanon is modern blood libel, how easter pogroms can’t really be divorced from ‘the war on christmas’. and then, especially because conspiracy theory is now such a jokey quirky thing to so many people (”what’s your favorite conspiracy theory”) and not understood as an integral aspect of modern antisemitism, jews are suddenly The Fun Police, even tho all of these things share the same logic and imagery that drove an entire genocide not even a century ago

The rundown of my situation:
I turned 18 on September 30th, 2020. Immediately after returning from my trip, I am expected to pay rent despite lacking any formidable income. I have a job interview tomorrow, (October 6th, 2020).
However, I need car insurance to get my license (appointment scheduled October 12th, 2020) and I need money for food and Ubering places. I have enough in savings to cover rent, but that is only if I do not feed myself or prepare any savings for the future.
Basically, my expenses are:
$3K – purchasing trustworthy car that I have driven before from my family. It realy cuts i to my funds, but I have this. Don’t worry about this.
$200+? — car insurance to get license. Don't worry about this, I'm trying my best to work on it.
$400 rent — Don't worry about this, given I recieve money for the following:
Food, groceries, utilites and general things to keep me alive. + Ubering.
Basically, just send what you can or commission what you can. I'll work as hard as I can on the commissions I recieve, I want them to look great as a thank-you.
For general frame of reference, one meal is like... Maybe $8 if I'm in person. $14 or so if I order online.
Uber can range from $6 to $20 per trip because I live in the middle of nowhere.

hey psa to stop saying "g*blins"/"g*blincore". they have been twisted in the weirdest way to have extremely antisemitic features about them. "magpiecore" or "crowcore" are good alternatives. the stereotypes that stand out the most are big/hooked noses and greed/hoarding.
