As someone who doesn’t like or engage w dark romance fiction bcuz I find it personally distasteful, it intrigues me to no end that all the people up in arms about that one book haunting Adeline existing and getting a film adaptation are upset about it being weird kinky adult fiction made for adults who choose to engage with it, and not upset abt the blatant and horrible antisemitism inherent to the plot because the author decided she just had to include a bunch of qanon blood libel bullshit. And the reason this fascinates me (in a bad way) is because like. I feel like. One of these things. Is actually bad. And worthy of widespread rejection. And not just something unlikeable on a personal level. But everyone is just fine with that. I guess.
