✍: What language(s) they can speak. 

Aside from English, she's traveled to a lot of other places, mostly for research and for enjoyment, and picks up phrases and words from other languages. Personal headcanon is that she knows how to speak Spanish fluently (cus I do////😅) and is learning Japanese in order to communicate well in other regions like Johto and Hoenn, where she visits often. Regardless, she is open to learning any because that means she can translate her works for other regions! Though, I'm sure she has someone who could do it for her, heh.

But this week, I’m going to moving into another apartment so that will be taking up a lot of my time. But I have some open starters I plan to post soon since, unfortunately, I didn’t get a chance to sign up for the winter event 😅😅

Terrified. Completely and utterly terrified. Those very words would be what accurately described Leah as of this moment as she wandered through the eerie hallways, thinking repeatedly– why, oh why did she think this was a good idea? Halloween was anything but her favorite holiday, there being several opportunities for her to be subjected to being in dark spaces, or scared; but out of not wanting to be a spoilsport, she had chosen to accept the invitation to a party located in the Unova region.

Except the fact that it wasn’t quite a party. To Leah, it was an onslaught of horrors, to say the least. Timidness somehow made her an often victim to scares in dark places, her ‘over reactions’ were hilarious, quote what some stranger had said of her. Come a few hours, the young composer was unsure how exactly she had survived the experience, and stumbled upon this building.

Which was namely pitch black. And had no one in it. Basically every scenario for a horror situation was played before her very eyes, and she found herself knee deep inside said situation. Needless to say, as mentioned before she was terrified.    

Happening upon the door and knocking said door was sheer luck, merely from her attempt of finding her way around to see whether there was a door in this never ending darkness– hence the shout from behind said ‘door’ gave her quite a fright, causing her to fall to her knees with a yelp. That terror soon gave way to relief, however as there was at least someone else in this darkness, and perhaps that door would lead her to light.

Completely scared out of her mind, rushed, stumbled words escaped her lips as she attempted to get back up to her feet: “ E-excuse m-me… can.. can you please switch on the lights if there’s lights here oh arceus I’m really scared I’m sorry. ”           ♪

Shauntal looked out at the hallway, only to find a petite young lady at the verge of tears looking up at her. An Ace Trainer, she taught. Didn’t she know the league was closed? How did she get in? Oh no, next time she sees Alder, she is definitely going to have a serious talk about security issues within the League. This was all overwhelming to contemplate in one night, especially after hours of writing in her journals.

Finally peeling her face off them was actually relieving, in a sense. A major writing block had stuck her around 10pm and it’s been endless fussing. The wind was strong outside, causing the walls to reverberate a drumming pattern that took her interest for a while. She could see how it combined with the darkness could scare someone this late at night.

“Good morning,” she said to the girl with certainty. “I, um, could turn the lights on for you but I don’t have the keys to reach the power box downstairs...” Shauntal beams with an idea and calls for her Chandelure. “Vela!!”

At the sound of her name, Vela spun in the out from Shauntal’s desk and zipped out the door. Once she was in the hallway, she turned to look at the author. “Please use Flash!”

The Chandelure whirred in acknowledgment and starting glowing brighter as each second passed.

“Forgive me, I never asked for your name?” She reached out her hand to the Trainer on the floor. “I am Shauntal of the Unova Elite Four. Please, come in.“

Sabrina found herself in the huge Unovan League building. She was in the area doing a movie, and had some down time, which she usually spent exploring the area. This exploration of hers brought her to this door with life on the other side. Curious about everything, she knocked.

“Uh, hi.” She said, smiling. She couldn’t really explain what brought her here, but something called for her to be there. “I’m not really sure why I’m here. I was curious at what I was feeling behind this door. Sorry, if I interrupted you.”

Shauntal was caught a bit off-guard to see a star such as Sabrina at her door. She opened it fully as an invitation to step inside. It was rather obvious she wasn’t expecting guests, otherwise she would have picked up all the balls of crumpled paper, and the slips of cut up paper she left on her desk and, unfortunately, the floor.

“Oh... hello! Please come in! I love having guests, so there are no worries!” Shauntal replied and she attempted to flatten out the wrinkles in her purple dress, having sat so long in her chair. “Pardon the mess; if I had known sooner, I would’ve kept tidy.” She laughed a bit, looking back at her baby Litwick who came out of hiding. It was playing with a loose paper and blowing air at it. “I guess it’s a first-hand look in an author’s world. I recently prepared tea. Would you like some?”

 ★: Who inspires them..

In terms of writing, she enjoys observing interactions between people. Whether she is on the subway or even just talking through Marvelous Bridge, she will find something that catches her interest. Most of her writing deals with trainers she battles, jotting down matches that she seems to think about during random parts of the day. She keeps several notebook logs of novel ideas that uses as inspiration for her stories.

She loves horror and mystery. With such a large personal library, she's able to keep track of many authors, artists, and even directors in the genre like Guillermo del Toro (I'm so vanilla when it comes to horror, like.. I couldn't even finish Pan's Labyrinth). I'd say one of her favorite authors would be Sheridan Le Fanu, who sparked her interest in ghosts at a young age. Her collection of books is also good brain fuel when in need.

"’And he said...he said...’ No that doesn't work." Shauntal scribbled out the lines she wrote and folded the corner of the page. She clicked her tongue as she looked at her clock: 1:15AM. Her dimly lit chamber was enough to tire her eyes out but the pungent scent of coffee was the only thing keeping her awake. Shauntal never enjoyed it as a last resort (since tea was kinder to her) but on days like these, it seemed like the only way to plow through several chapters before her editor calls in the morning.

“Hmm...”

The writer mumbled under her breath. She put down her pen to grab her coffee, drinking it with care. On days unlike these, she’d burn herself in a bout of nerves but today (or rather, yesterday) was the first day of off-season. It gave the elite a chance to vacation for a bit, but due to Shauntal’s responsibilities as a best-selling author, she's once again alone. Silence was swept all through the HQ, save for the whirs of Chandelure from above her workspace. Granted, she was still stressed but it felt ideal.

Shauntal’s mini moments of reflection were cut short when, suddenly, her ghost friends all hid in a rush, startling her as the light knock on her chamber door caught her ears.

“At this hour?! Who could it be?” Shauntal rose from her chair and walked to the door. She slowly unlocked her door and peaked through the crack.
