my WINGS theory ??
this is nothing too intricate but its the general feel i got ??i might be way off tbh but
Ā The general concept here is of being set free. This in itself can be of course interpreted in many ways as its too broad of a topic Ā but hear me out,
Ā Gonna sort of start right from the end: we are presented with 4 circles/dots and one of them looks as if it has been burst open; thatās what sparked this idea.Ā
Ā Throughout hyyh weāve seen the same consistent pairings: jihope, vmon and yoonkook (&Jin). So letās assume that one of the 4 circles is destined for each. Ā So first we get the story of realisation and liberation of jungkook+Yoongi, and itās as follows: Jungkook wakes up after being hit by the car as seen in INU, thatās why right at the start u can hear tires screeching and then glass breaking (which also relates to the yoonkook fight/ the disruption of the house of cards), basically the epitome of everything that went wrong and ultimately led to their demise/death. Ā Now jungkook is trapped between two worlds (the whole day&night symbolism as narrated by namjoon), and he is obviously terrified and devastated by the events. Heās particularly haunted by yoongiās death as we see him hold on to a drawing of him, and it burdens me, hence the several pics that surround him in an almost daunting manner.
Then he sees himself, reflected in that painting and watches the portrayal of his life through it, as everything once again falls apart; the painting burns and gets tainted, representing all of the suffering the boy has endured. We are also shown how through all the difficult times he turns to who he holds most dear, his hyung (yoongi) and calls out to him in desperation. (You see him mouthing āhyungā while he cries.)
Ā Ā However, after itās over and the storm passes, he looks down and the drawing of Yoongi has been replaced by a one of a crow (representation of death?), as if heās finally accepting what has happened and letting go. He puts it in an envelope with wings drawn on it and then his shadow grows those wings and his body is illuminated by light as you hear a subtle epiphany worthy melody being played in the background.
Ā Yes, heās finally set free from all the tragedy and burdens he held onto and endured firsthand. Ā As the quote that appears in both ātomorrowā and this short film cites: āThe dawn right before the sun rises is the darkestā. The sun has finally risen, he has endured the worst and is now finally free of it all. Ā I think its basically a journey or a moment of realisation and true liberation; thatās why the concept focuses so heavily on WINGS, which to many carry that exact meaning, freedom.
