Stardust
Living as stardust,
it’s all I am.
Deep in my core
since before ape became man.
Primordial soup.
Elements in infinity.
Comedy and tragedy.
Nothing and everything.
In the deepest part
of my bones, blood, mind, and soul.
I love being me,
and I can only wish to grow old.
To live in the deepest emotions
of this human life.
Keeping the ones who understand by my side.
Maybe I’m too in love with that inebriated high,
a loss of inhibition, and opening my mind.
Happy hippy, hopeless poet,
just a girl that can try to craft a life good enough to be mine.
I kiss each of the planets goodnight,
and I go to my dreams to figure out my life.
Visiting places that feel like home,
and feeling love from the people I wish never had to go.
Each night I rest I learn something new,
and I wake in the morning and there’s nothing to do.
I’m petrified by the fact that I don’t know how to make my life exceptional and important.
Yet, I’m paralyzed by every human emotion,
and cursed to let it out and write it down.
Sometimes I feel like I’m floating above the Earth alone,
and I can picture places I’ve never been that somehow feel like home.
Ethereal dreams of lifetimes past.
Intangible visions that never seem to last.
I know it’s important.
I know it’s real.
I’ve had these visions since I began to feel.
I’ve always felt infinite,
but never free.
Trapped by my existential anxiety.
What if I smoke away my lungs?
Or eat away my health?
Or drink away my looks?
But without my vices-
how will I live my life?
Or run from it.
Cursed to be conflicted
like the universe before me.
All I ever wanted was a life that wouldn’t bore me.
But don’t worry, child, it's part of your journey.
This planet is so human...
And even if you believe it’s worth it, you must prove it.
And even as the season’s change us, do this-
make wishes on meteorites,
blow a kiss to the moon.
You are made of stardust,
you can do anything you want to.
