CAN WE TALK ABOUT THAT NEW FAR FROM HOME CLIP FOR A SECOND:

Peter asking Happy to give MJ the little spider necklace, “in case if something happens to me” is a lot more heartbreaking than it already appears to be…

Think about it, prior to Infinity War/Endgame, Peter was just a friendly neighborhood Spider-Man who stopped burglars, helped people get places, and stayed close to the ground. Of course, there was always risk with his “internship” but there was never a real risk of death (with the exception of The Vulture but I digress). But after the events of Infinity War and Endgame, death now sits heavily in his mind. Not only because of his own death but because of Tony’s fate.

Peter has dealt with death before. Too many times for his age. Uncle Ben’s death is what helped inspire him to become who he is. But Tony’s death is what causes his fun times as Spider-Man come crashing down on him. Having to die, come back [5 years later I might add], and then witness your mentor/father figure die trying to save the universe, to save YOU, is TERRIFYING. Especially someone as powerful, knowledgable, and seemingly untouchable as the Tony Stark. But he’s still going to do whatever it is he’s about to do because that’s what Peter Parker does. That’s what Uncle Ben taught him. That’s what Tony taught him.

This moment is Peter accepting that he may die one day trying to save everyone, just like Tony. And if he does die, he wants to make sure that everyone will be okay when he’s gone.
