2. What is/was your character’s relationship with their mother like?Very good. He talks to and visits her regular and she dithers over him every single time, her poor son first being a cop in Chicago and now with this Khusti where he gets beaten up in public twice a week!
3. What is/was your character’s relationship with their father like?Very good. He greatly admired and loved his father and the man’s last words before passing left a deep impression upon him. He wants to become the kind of man his father believed he could become, the kind of man befitting of the name he was given at birth, Adeel Alam (Universal Justice)
5. On an average day, what can be found in your character’s pockets?A silver lighter his father gifted him, a pocketknife his mother gave him after she found out he was going to be a cop in Chicago, his wallet, Ipod, handphone and a secondary (burner) handphone.

11. In what situation was your character the most afraid they’ve ever been?When he was shot before before backup could arrive during armed robbery, watched his partner die and thought he was going to die too.

17. What was your character’s favorite toy as a child?His parents didn’t have a lot to spend on toys when they emigrated here, so his father learned woodworking and made most of it for him. His favorite was a wooden winged helmet which he paired off with a scimitar and a shield. The winged helmet has been his wrestling emblem ever since and the real deal has been passed down to his daughter.

23. What does your character dislike in other people?Racism, elitism, wanton cruelty whether in words or deeds.
29. What did your character dream of being or doing as a child? Did that dream come true?Being a cop was always high on his priority list, he truly wanted to help make the world a better place. Wrestling was a secondary love he pursued alongside his career on the force and when his time wearing a badge began to leave him disillusioned, he left to focus his whole efforts in wrestling instead.

Describe a scenario in which your character feels most comfortable.Just after Subuh prayers, when the thinnest sliver of dawn light is visible upon the horizon and the world is still save for the pitter-patter of his daughter’s feet greeting him after he’s given his final salaam. It’s still too early for breakfast, so the two catch a nap together on his prayer rug.

Honestly outside of the buck teeth, the fancy feet, the badge---formerly anyway, the idealistic outlook and giving concerned parents aneurysms over dangerous career choices made over a want to do good for the world, we have nothing in c----alright, maybe we have a lot in common, but she’s still cuter than I could ever hope to be.

Hmmmm, I have to think on that….he’s crafty, he’s resilient…..elegant in the ring….fuck this is hard….I wanna say he’s a fox, a black/silver one. Rare and beautiful but will rip your damn face off.

Why or why not?No. His parents were humble people who preferred for him to be a good man over a successful one so that’s stuck with him for a long while. He has enough to keep him and his daughter reasonably comfortable. Anything else goes to his mother or charities. He’s sort of a hobo at his bachelor pad when he’s not being a Prince, ngl.

Has this flaw destroyed relationships for them before?He’s easily driven into obsession and can forget how to function.It’s a normal thing for him to be up for three days straight on nothing but falafels and Dr.Pepper and going completely off the grid while delving through casefiles or perfecting a wrestling chain until he gets 25 missed calls from an increasingly panicky ex-wife and 30 from his mother wondering if he isn’t face-down in a ditch somewhere. It’s basically the reason why he’s divorced.
22. What does your character like in other people?Warmth, determination, a desire to help others.
24. How quick is your character to trust someone else?Not quick at all. He’s a wary hare, nose sniffling from a distance and ears upright to catch the slightest sound underfoot which might suggest danger. He’s a former cop and a Muslim in this country so trusting people does not come naturally to him. He can be friendly, warm and cordial with people around him, but real trust is never given out save to a privileged few.
37. Is your character more concerned with defending their honor, or protecting their status?Defending his honor. As the son of immigrants, there’s technically not a whole lot of status in the eyes of the public to be protected anyway. Honor is all he really has.
7. Does your character have recurring themes in their nightmares?This will be explored a little further in an upcoming drabble, but his ex-wife and daughter murdered by the enemies he made during his time on the force tend to be a recurring thing where nightmares are concerned.
14. Does your character remember names or faces easier?Names are something he still struggles with, but he has a very good eye for faces mainly since he’s hypervigilant on the streets. This leads to some minor frustration whenever he needs a favor from old friends to pull up records because Fuck’s sake Adeel do you want us to get you a sketch artist because this isn’t helping EVERYONE SOUTH OF MIAMI HAS THAT KIND OF SOUL PATCH AND SUNGLASSES.
38. Is your character more likely to remove a problem/threat, or remove themselves from a problem/threat?It depends on the nature of the threat.
//He probably lets his daughter do his hair, or test out nail polish on his nails.
//The hair thing, definitely. He wears it in a topknot sometimes, which his daughter discovered for him for when she was frustrated that it wasn’t long enough to tie into a ponytail.As for the nail polish thing, his ex-wife did get him some to play with her and came back to the stuff painted all over their faces while they were in the middle of a tea party.
