Reminders to Myself:
Stop breaking yourself to comfort others.
Stop allowing others to hurt you.
Stop letting others manipulate you for their benefit.
Stop putting your heart through pain because you care so deeply. They clearly don’t.
Stop letting your kindness be taken for granted.
Recognize people for WHO they are, not WHAT they say.
Stop making excuses for people you care about. Hold them accountable.
Walk away from things and people who no longer enhance your life.
You are allowed to walk away and not feel guilty from people who continually hurt you.
Listen to your soul, protect your heart.
It is okay to care for people from afar. They don’t need you close even if they say they do. They will be just fine without you.
You can let go without getting the apologies you wish for and deserve. You’ve done it your whole life. Don’t let bitterness infect your light.
Love yourself enough to be strong enough to do the things you know is right no matter how much it hurts. Even if others don’t or can’t understand right now. YOU know what is right. YOU understand what is best for the future. YOU understand beyond ‘right now’.
Remember what true friendship means. Who’s continually shown you this and who hasn’t.
Listen to the people who have proven they genuinely care about YOU, not what you can provide for them. They have your best interest at heart.
Actions speak louder than words.
Be the bigger person. Take the time you need to heal, write your tongue-bitten, unspoken words down. And then let go.
You deserve the inner peace you crave. Don’t let others destroy the progress you’ve made.
You are so loved even though it doesn’t feel like it right now. You are smarter than you think and stronger than you feel.
Remember the kindness few have shown you. You don’t need an army, you just need real. It’s okay if you can count them on your hand. They are the one’s who are genuinely in your corner; cherish them. Thank them. Tell them how much you appreciate them. They are the ones who are at the end of this black hole, waiting to celebrate you just as you are.
You’ve got this. Believe in yourself.
