Can we stop using "still lives with their parents" or "unemployed" or "doesn't have a drivers license" or "didn't graduate high school" as an insult or evidence that someone is a bad person? Struggling with independence or meeting milestones is not a moral failing.

Incredibly real. As someone who works for a union here in Belgium. Who's job it literally is to pay people's benefits. It's as simple as 'who do you live with' 'what is their relationship to you' 'do they have an income' REASSURING THEM THAT BEING ON BENEFITS IS NOT A DAMN SIN. I swear to God the amount of people trying to reassure me that they're looking for a job. I don't care. You paid your social contribution. You have the right to these benefits. Don't rush to find something you hate. It's as easy as asking 'do you have a document that says you no longer study' because it doesn't matter if they finished or not. And telling them every option they have to get their required documents to us. Which just as easily can be mailed or send to us using an app.

None of these questions are even relevant. Coming from someone who works unemployment.

And sadly I do have colleague's that will be mean and be like. "You can come over you got nothing to do" and people telling me on the phone they're already having half a panic attack.

We really should do better.
