Most of the sketches are old, it goes from new to old, and I think all these sketches were from last year? I don't know. Excuse me.

I have more, but I can't post them yet. Some need a translation, some need a separate post with context. Also, I'm not going to post anything from my fic yet, I just don't see the point in it.

This is actually a big test for my psychological state. At some point, it just became hard for me to post anything, and I'm still dealing with the consequences of that. Making this post for me now is like getting out of my comfort zone and I hope it will bring at least some benefit.

Sorry to have to read the whining not related to the post itself.

okay i just had a silly idea

This photo, titled simply "West Castle Town," is typical of Link's early photojournalism, which largely focused on contrasting the beauty of Hyrule with the aftermath of war. At first glance, a decayed Guardian dominates the foreground, but the camera centers a Hyrulean flag still flying on a guard tower. On a closer look, the flag splits the frame in two. On the left, behind the flag, lie the Divine Beast Vah Medoh, firing its beam at the castle, and the more subtle silhouette of Hebra tower. On the right, the Guardian is backed by lingering strands of malice. The arrangement of these chess pieces on either side of the deteriorated flag symbolizes the long-wearing conflict to control Hyrule.

Link initially photographed two versions of this scene. The first was taken under storm clouds, with Vah Medoh's beam, the Skyview Tower, and the Malice all clearly visible. He later returned to photograph the scene on a clear day. The glowing combatants fade into the background, and the colors of the sky and plants become more vivid. He ultimately published the latter, perhaps wanting a more optimistic tone, or perhaps emphasizing the role of the land itself as a third party to the conflict—a recurring theme in his work. The original was donated by royal archive and is here shown to the public for the first time.

Look, I realize that the whole Schrodinger's Mitch thing has real political consequences on a national level, but since I'm not from Kentucky and have no say whatsoever in the outcome of the situation, I'm honestly just finding the entire thing grimly hilarious.
