Finn’s acting is incredible.

The look on Mike’s face when he looks at Will, his best friend, a guy, someone who he’s not supposed to feel anything towards. The pain behind his eyes. The look of yearning. In this moment, he doesn’t want Will rooting for him and El. He wants the opposite. There’s only one thing stopping him from telling El that he loves her and from being happy with her, and that thing is Will. Deep down, Mike hoped that Will would tell him that he’s right and that maybe he shouldn’t be with El, but he knew that could never happen. He doesn’t see him and Will as an option. He thinks that Will doesn’t feel the same, and that his feelings for him are childish, stupid and something he will grow out of. He thinks that the only right thing for him to do is to be with El. Deep down, Mike hoped that Will would say something like “I’m the one who needs you mike”. But no, all he got was “El needs you, Mike, and she always will”.
