Schitt's Creek was never a show I intended to be so rabidly in love with: and certainly didn't expect it to be my favourite piece of LGBTQ+ media. But here we are!

It was refreshing to watch a world where LGBTQ was just a way of life, instead of a plot gimme? And David's romantic stories were always as dynamic, entertaining & messy as any other on the show. 100/10. Will rewatch again and again!

Dude goes through so many emotions. I don't know exactly what Will is saying in these specific shots, but this is what his body language tells me.

First gif: Steady eye contact, small smile, slight nodding. Compassion. "I'm here for you, Will. Say what you're gonna say."

Second gif: Eyes go wide, rapid blinking, sitting up straight, breath catch. Shock. "Whoa, wait, what??"

Third gif: Eyebrows down. Unable to hold eye contact. Worrying of his lip, Total guilt. "I hate myself for what I said two years ago."

Fourth gif: Sad eyes. Frown. Swallowing. Regret. "Had a crush? Past tense?"

Was this the "emotional weight" Finn carried? If so, it's a bit too subtle for most people to catch on to. Hopefully, there is more to come.

I'll say this again but JUST IN CASE you should also prepare yourselves for the possibility of a fake rejection/perceived rejection in volume 2 or them keeping Mike's side ambiguous again... the writers could be pushing the avalanche to the finale because even if I hope that's not how they're going to handle it and they will make it more and more obvious that Mike is reciprocating from ep. 5, we have to keep in mind how gay slow burns are handled usually in TV and how they push it to the final episode to confirm it (korrasami, catradora etc)

Hopefully they didn't accept that and went all in from ep. 5 but better have a reminder of this anyway!!!

I still think it’s happening tonight, but I agree. It’s possible that they leave it for Vol 3 instead. Even if that’s way less likely imo. But even if that happens, we still won! Everything points to it. Even people who casually watch and don’t care about ships are seeing it now.

Please keep this in mind. We have to stay strong. We have this!

rbing with @bluebear-d’s tags. So true! This is what I’ve been telling my friends. I’ve not watched so I don’t have full context, but I’ve heard a few things. I also know that everything points to Byler. We have had crash outs before then looked back and saw things were way more positive. It’s especially bad when we see Will’s POV because he thinks it’s unrequited. Just because Will thinks Mike is his Tammy doesn’t mean that Mike really is. Mike is Will’s Vicky. Remember that Byler has paralleled Robin and Vicky multiple times!!

Mike also isn’t just a crush. Will was downplaying it. It was confirmed that Will is in love with Mike. Will knows he’s in love wifh Mike and always will be. He said as much in the van. Noah, Finn, and the Duffers have all confirmed he’s in love with Mike.

Also as far as Mike’s reactions… Finn is the king of micro expressions. So many times people miss what he’s doing with his face until they see gifs. Even with Vol 1 people thought he was not receptive of Will in the field until they saw gifs of it. Then they were commenting on how it changed the context of the whole scene for them and he was definitely receptive.

I’m just saying don’t give up!! We are in the home stretch.

I haven’t watched Volume 2 yet, but I know people are crashing out. I still fully believe in Byler endgame. And knew there was a chance it isn’t happening until Vol 3. I’ve not given up. Byler is endgame. 💙💛 We just have to wait a little longer for it.

I do still think it’s the heart of the show.
