#saveWRAS for what it's worth.
Adult Swim is airing a new bump this week for #SaveWRAS!
This is breaking our cause nationally to save Georgia State University’s 43-year-strong student-run college radio station. Help save Atlanta’s precious resource for diverse, quality music. Save college radio!
Pull funding from GSU and Georgia Public Broadcasting. Contract our state representatives. Spread the word and visit www.savewras.com.
Here is a preview of what we're processing from the WRAS collection for Georgia State University Library Special Collections and Archives.
Before long this collection will be available to the public for research purposes and will include Local music, documents, ephemera and station produced recordings. These in house productions include interviews, drops, promos and performances from the likes of The Pixies, Janelle Monae, Weezer and many others.
Also keep an eye out here at ShellacHappens.tumblr.com or @shellachappens for a forthcoming privately curated project from WRAS alumni.

WRAS’ very first moments of broadcast January 1971”
"There are those that mistrust student expression, I am not one of those." Students Are as likely to express themselves as well as any other group of citizens. The students on WRAS radio station at Georgia State, can hardly do worse than many people have done on radio stations that you and I have heard over the years.” Dean Kenneth England

Edwin Le Mar Novachord Quartet
I have included a photo from the Hammond Novachord Wikipedia page to provide context. I would really love to get my hands on one of these, they are widely considered to be the world's first commercial polyphonic synth, in production from 1939-42
