bruce wayne is the prince of gotham kingdom and he's dearly treasured by the king, thomas wayne, who is also his father.
his mother, martha wayne, had died during childbirth hence the reason thomas is extremely protective of his son. bruce also was born premature so he had a weaker body than his peers.
thomas isn't a good king, he was corrupted and caused his people to suffer in poverty and famine. bruce isn't aware of his father's atrocious actions, he's not allowed to participate in any politics meetings and only given standard manner lessons for a prince.
bruce is a caged prince, he's not aware of anything that happens outside of his castle but he has a good heart. he's kind towards his servants and known to be a generous prince.
-
enter kal-el or clark kent, the fake name he uses to infiltrate the kingdom of gotham.
he was born from a lower noble family. his family and people suffered the consequences of king thomas's atrocities. kal-el isn't the type of person to suffer in silence. at the young age of just 15, he gathered many followers and silently planned a rebellion towards the king of gotham.
but to achieve his goal, he needs to infiltrate the castle.
so he posed as a young man applying to be the prince's newest servant. he had heard rumours about how the prince is extremely gullible and somewhat foolish. kal-el realises that he could use that knowledge for his advantage.
but he didn't expect to fall in love with the said foolish prince, bruce wayne.
their first meeting didn't go as he expected. clark kent thought that he will meet with a dumb and gullible prince.
but boy was he so wrong.
bruce welcomes him with full respect and kindness. he doesn't care that clark is only a servant, he treated everyone equally. bruce is the kindest person he has ever meet. he remembers every servant's name, including clark's. he's very attentive to every servant who serve him, like asking about their days or if there's something that he could help them with.
sure it's obvious that he's sheltered and unaware about many things, but bruce isn't an arsehole. he has the biggest heart, with so much love to give to everyone around him. it's no wonder that every person who interacted with prince bruce love him dearly. they're all very protective towards him.
he's willing to learn new things, with a particular innocence that had long died inside kal-el. he's humble and willing to fix his mistakes when he made one. he's always honest about his dream of exploring the world and meeting his kingdom's people. he wishes to be a dependable and generous prince, eventually a king, for his people.
it was no wonder clark kent, no— kal-el has fallen in love with prince bruce wayne.
it was even more ridiculous and unbelievable that bruce reciprocates his feelings.
the two had become lovers in secret, having their lovers rendezvous behind the castle under a white birch tree. they professed love towards one another, giving each other shy and innocent kisses, holding hands tenderly, two hearts so full of love.
"i love you, clark. with all of my heart."
"i love you too, my dearest prince. with all of my heart, with every fiber of my being. i dedicate my life to you."
bruce is utterly in love, and so does clark kent.
they both wish that time would stop so they could spend time with each other all day.
but kal-el has a goal to achieve. to take down the king and his corrupted regime. he promised his followers that he will free them from the evil king. but falling in love with prince bruce wayne has thrown off his plan all over the place.
kal-el can't bear to see the love of his life die. just imagining bruce being executed in public almost send him into madness. the thought of bruce being mocked by the people and seen as a demon wrecks kal-el. he needs to keep bruce save, away from any harm.
-
bruce never thought his life could be turned upside down in just a matter of days.
his father has been extremely paranoid over the rumours of rebellion. he had fired most of the servants, even bruce's personal butler and maid, alfred and leslie. he kept bruce locked inside his room with no access to the outside, not even to the gardens.
bruce had no way to meet his lover, clark, who seemed to vanish along with other servants. bruce is heartbroken by this, but he couldn't put the blame on clark, he was just a mere servant. the only thing he could do is to wish that clark was okay, even if they could never meet again.
he was absolutely suprised and scared when the rebel forces had managed to get inside, defeating the king's soldiers.
bruce had stayed quiet inside his room, hoping to not get caught but his hope quickly vanish when the rebels force their way into his room and captured bruce in swift.
bruce was burdened with a weak body and no experience in combat, so he was captured easily and was brought to main hall by the rebels. he had bloody temple and bruised face from the harsh treatment. his body is swollen from the beatings he received. he is hurting everywhere.
but nothing could prepare him to see his lover, clark kent, on the center of the rebellion forces.
the young man is surrounded by other people, asking for his command and directions on what to do next. clark (is he really clark?) is commanding them with ease, giving out instructions on what to do.
bruce stares in disbelief. his lover, his dearest, his— is the center of the rebellion, the leader.
bruce is put inside a prison, with no proper food given and only a single chair with some hays as a bed. he's mocked as the stupid, gullible, idiot prince by the rebels (bruce wonders if clark thinks the same as the others). he's told by the rebels that his father is the most heinous man to ever live and he will die for his sins. they told the stories of the king's corruption, his wickedness, and how he has been tormenting his own people for so long.
bruce has lost all will to live.
he's wrecked to find out that his father, the man he loves and respects, turns out to be such a horrible man. and most importantly, he's ashamed of himself, for being such a foolish and ignorant prince. living lavishly without a care for his people, he's truly the worst prince ever. he deserves to die.
bruce doesn't realise that clark, no he's not clark, he had learned recently that his lover's real name is kal-el, is currently standing right outside of bruce's prison. his face is full of pain, tormented by the horrible sight of his love, but bruce doesn't notice, he's too exhausted.
"why did you confess to the things you didn't know, my prince? you didn't know that your father is a tyrant, you could have been pardoned from his sins." kal-el is frustrated by his love's actions, how can he protect him if his prince admits to the things he's never done or know?
"my father's sins are also my sins. i should have noticed that he has been committing these evil things to the kingdom's people. haven't you heard the phrase of ignorance is also a sin? then i am guilty, thus deserve to be locked here and receive my punishment."
bruce chuckles weakly. he doesn't know why kal-el is trying to fool him again, he has realised by now that the stupid prince is only a tool for kal-el to infiltrate the castle and carry out the rebellion.
"yes, you don't know about anything that's has been happening in the kingdom, my prince. but that's not your fault! the king has been excluding you from any politics meeting and he cages you inside his castle. he forbids any political or historical books inside your library and keeps his ministers out of your sight. the servants are threatened to never talk of the kingdom matters to you, so you had no way of learning about your own kingdom. please... i beg you, we can still set you free from this. let me help you out, my prince."
kal-el knows his lover well. despite being a gentle person, bruce can also be extremely stubborn. once he made up his mind, there's no changing them, which is why kal-el is absolutely scared for his dearest. the prince is absolutely convinced that he's in the fault and deserves to die for his sins.
"no, i do not need your help, kal-el. so that's your real name, huh? do you also even need the glasses? you claim that it was because you have the worst eyesight but looking now, i guess you never need them in the first place. was it fun to deceive the idiot prince and make fun of his feelings? i have never felt this kind of feeling before and you have taken advantage of me. i feel foolish from being deceived yet i still harbor this love for you. tell me, kal-el, aren't i an absolute fool? will you laugh at me, the hopeless romantic prince who still long for you even at the brink of my death?"
kal-el stays quiet. in this moment, both of them know that nothing wil change. their bond has been severely damaged by kal-el's betrayal. this is the end of their love story. oh, how pitiful.
"is this your decision, my prince?"
bruce only replies to his dearest love with a weak smile.
-
the streets are full with angry people. they were all the people who had been tormented for so long by king thomas. they had lost their homes, their family, and everything. no wonder these people harbor hatred towards the royal family.
king thomas's execution happens just before bruce's.
before their timely death, both royals are walked through the streets of people full of hatreds towards them. they spit out the harshest insults, anger, mockeries, and even throw rocks at both king and the prince. the king was full of anger, even on his last breath, he still didn't admit to his crimes.
bruce was quiet. he accepted every insults, he heard their cries, he bore their hatred. to the young prince, it was acceptable. he is truly a demon prince and that's why he needs to die today.
the prince was put on the podium where his father had just died before. the blood was still warm and people were shouting for his death. bruce accepted it all. he is a sinner.
bruce looked up to see his love, kal-el, staring at him coldly, devoid from any emotions. bruce smiles gently, as if telling kal-el that he hasn't done anything wrong.
bruce took a deep breath. his last words will cement him as the evil prince in his people's hearts and minds.
"WHAT ARE YOU TOUCHING ME FOR? I AM NOT WRONG, YOU ARE ALL PEASANTS, IT IS ONLY RIGHT FOR YOU TO WORK AND DIE FOR ME! I AM THE PRINCE OF THIS KINGDOM!"
the people are even more angered by the prince's words. they yell louder so that the prince will be quickly executed. they wish for his death.
"whenever you are ready, lord kal-el."
"execute the sinner." kal-el says his decree.
bruce wayne, the prince of gotham kingdom, dies at the age of 15.
