You have to be a little bit in love with your leading man, and vice versa. If you’re going to portray love, you have to feel it. You can’t do it any other way. - Audrey Hepburn

Victorian Sherlolly AU - The First Time
Sherlock saw her first that day. He doesn’t know what compelled him to abandon his carriage and take a stroll down that alley, but he thanked fate and all its forces for having done so.
He had heard of her before, of course. After all, it was not everyday a female doctor rose to the level of recognition Doctor Hooper had achieved in London. But the scarce photographs he had seen of her did no justice to capture her vision, that much he was certain as he gazed at her in awe.
By chance, she turned towards his direction and Sherlock nearly lost his footing when their eyes made brief contact. The shock was something akin to being startled awake and his heart thundered for it. She looked away almost immediately but Sherlock could swear the moment had lasted a blissful eternity.
He was dimly aware that his feet were walking forward once more, perhaps motivated by the physical need he felt to close the distance between them. Her carriage rode on, and before he realised it, Sherlock found himself running after her like his life dependent on it.
In the years to come, he will reflect back on this encounter and wholeheartedly agree that it had.
Victorian Sherlolly
Part One
“Will she be alright, Doctor?” He asked as the young woman left the room. He had not believed in the skill of a female doctor when he’d first been recommended her, but he would not overlook Doctor Molly Hooper simply because of her gender. His friends judgement was sound and trustworthy and it was his daughters demand to see a woman instead of usual family friend John Watson. A demand that had him deeply concerned.
"She will sleep for the rest of the night." The woman’s gentle but professional tone informed him as she exited the room. "I gave her laudanum to keep her calm."
"You failed to answer my question, Doctor Hooper. Will she be alright?" He raised his voice a fraction which was only met with a stern look. This was his daughter she was treating, he had no patience when it came to her health.
"Where is the girl’s mother?" Doctor Hooper asked, looking down the hallways quickly for a sign of the mistress of the house.
There was a long silence as he looked upon his girl asleep in her room, the doctor waiting by his side. “There is no mother.”
"You have my sympathies, Mr Holmes. She will be fine, of that I am sure. Her running away was surely to get your attention, I have no doubt she would have come home sooner if it were not for the accident." She looked over at the man, his posture stiff but his face a window to his emotions. This was not the cold man she had been led to believe he was. "But Mr Holmes, I also have no doubt that if you keep trying to hide the answers to her questions, she will continue to go out and seek them on her own, and you and I both know how dangerous the streets can be."
