This is my 9 year old son Dartagnan. He is a wonderful son and a fantastic human being. His passion in life is dance and gymnastics, especially ballet, loves anything that sparkles and the color pink.

Unfortunately his father and the rest of our family does not support his dream and is generally nasty to both him and myself about him expressing himself and they try to turn him into a cookie cutter version of how a boy is “supposed to be”. He gets to hear about it from his dad, his grandparents, schoolmates, and even random strangers on the street.

Even with all the negative comments and attitudes Dartagnan knows who he is and what he likes and wants and I stand behind him 100%. He is a stronger athlete than pretty much every other kid I know, is full of determination, always has a great attitude even when people are trying to tear him down, and is full of such h energy and life even if he is a foot shorter than every other child his age we’ve met.

Dartagnan is part of a dance team who is supposed to gobto Denver Colorado in the spring to compete with other dance teams and will also get to take master dance classes from renowned dance teachers and choreographers from around the country. I am a single mother of three who struggles every month to make sure he gets to take his Dance and gymnastics classes he needs/wants but there is no way I will be able to send him to Denver with the rest of his dance team in the spring on my own. Please help Dartagnan get to compete and to be able to take advantage of this opportunity. Thank you.
