Is there any reason your bones or muscles or even your skin or eyes or head or literally everything and anything just decide to ache or hurt or feel like they're breaking or burning??? How do people stand this bru
I'm normally not one for AUs, because I think navigating the complexities of reversed or altered character growth in a way that still holds the characterization in a way that makes sense is hard, but I saw someone posting about wanting more calex AUs, so try this on for size:
Instead of going into WITSEC, so simply taking away the Zapata case entirely, Alex takes a leave of absence due to the same case that eventually took her out in canon- a man who she failed to convict went home and murdered his wife.
Alex feels guilty, and she's struggling to cope with her sense of responsibility to protect people the same way she had been with the boy from episode 3x18 "Guilt", so Donnelly advises the DA to take her out until she can get her ducks in a row.
To negate the guilt/try to retribute for her inability to protect that woman, Alex starts working for a domestic abuse shelter, and inevitably finds herself using her legal prowess to 'disappear' people the same way the older version of Alex did later.
On one evening, an elderly woman approaches her as she's packing up and requests help- her son, Charlie, has a fiance who she's worried about. She shows Alex a couple pictures of them and describes seeing more and more frequent bruising, black eyes and things that look almost like bite and scratch marks when the girl comes over for family dinners, and coupled with what she knows about the acceleration of her son's illness, she's concerned for her almost-daughter-in-law's wellbeing.
Alex wants to help, but knows logically that unless this woman comes forward and asks for help herself, she wouldn't be able to do anything. She encourages the woman to speak with her herself, and gives her her card in case the conversation does result in the woman requesting some sort of protection.
Alex starts work again at the DA's office, and after a couple days sees a flash of red hair in the hallway that looks scarily familiar- it's the woman she had seen in the pictures that had been brought to her. After a little snooping, she finds out the woman's name is Casey Novak, an ambitious white collar ADA who has quickly made a name for herself. The more Alex learns about her, the more determined she is to help- even though Casey doesn't know her yet.
Thoughts?
Looking back at this is kinda like watching the creation of the Mona Lisa
who do y'all think the SVU squad treated the WORST out of all their ADAs
The squad, or more specifically, Olivia Benson’s loyalty, has always been conditional. She’s loyal to her image, to whatever man she’s in her orbit with at the time, and to whoever is currently useful to her. The ADAs are disposable the moment they become inconvenient.
Barba genuinely killed a baby and faced more loyalty than Casey Novak ever got for bending a rule. Peter Stone had a schizophrenic sister and Olivia never once used it as leverage against his judgment the way she used Casey’s ex-fiancé against hers. Stone’s personal history was treated as context, while Casey’s was treated as a liability.
Which makes the male ADA thing make more sense too—Barba and Stone both had moments of being her person. When you’re in her orbit you’re protected. When you’re not, you’re on your own. And the female ADAs never really got to be her person the same way.
Casey especially—their relationship always had this undercurrent of Olivia not fully trusting her, questioning her, and the second Casey’s personal life created any friction it became ammunition. Whereas with Barba it was like. Oh well.
And it’s worth noting that while Cabenson is one of the more popular ships in the fandom, Olivia was always too consumed by Elliot, his approval, his absence, and his return, to have real sustained relationships with the women around her. The female ADAs needed an advocate inside the squad and instead they had someone who was emotionally checked out the moment elliot walked back into the room. Alex never got the potential, the loyalty, that partnership that the fandom wished for. Casey didn’t get it either. The version of Olivia who would have gone to bat for them the way she went to bat for Elliot simply didn’t exist on screen.
Sonya Paxton died for the job. Alex Cabot “died” for the job. Casey Novak dismantled her entire career for them.
The difference is that barba and stone were in Olivia’s good graces when it counted. The female ADAs weren’t. Olivia made sure they felt it.
I loved her so much when I started the show back in April of last year. Rollins was my #1, but I immediately got interested in Rolivia and Live was so cool, so pretty, so interesting, and I really looked up to her. It's so sad that as I kept watching the show, it's SO visible how much she really does only value you if you're in her orbit, whether you had some sort of romance with her or you were just always super useful to her. I noticed it with Amanda, and when I started hyperfixing on Casey- I noticed it even more :") over time I started to dislike her for it, and it's so sadddd. Especially since this fandom worships her like Jesus, and the moment you say anything bad about her, it's all "Nope. Not Olivia" or something like that. But if it's someone like Casey, Amanda, even fucking Alex sometimes, people really don't care all that much (especially Casey and mostly Amanda?? Oh my god?? People hate that SO MUCH??)

Canon Casey and Casey with my headcanons except you can probably see which one I spent more time on
so I saw Eric and he is adorable!!! How do you think emilie would react to nathalie having a child that was a hint of them both?
Honestly, I think it would be Emilie who would passively aggressively persuade Nathalie to get pregnant. And she’d probably get away with it. They’d raise the kid together and all that stuff.
But it’s also funny to think in the idea that, one day Nathalie secretly used the peacock miraculous and somehow (perhaps by mistake) got herself pregnant. She didn’t tell anyone. No one even suspected it. After years, she just showed up with a grown up kid.
Some messy stuff, let me tell ya...
It’s always “Marinette will be akumatised” or “Adrien will be akumatised” over the lie, but does anyone else wanna see Nathalie akumatised? Like wouldn’t it be cool to see the previous Mayura become just another victim of the same type of supervillainy?
Maybe then we could have a moment of her feeling guilty for the way that her and Gabriel manipulated people’s vulnerabilities.
casey’s mannerisms are SO LESBIAN!!!!! No way she’s straight

sending flowers for the last chapter of green light 💗
For obvious reasons this is a joke lmao
Glad you enjoyed it! Aren't you excited that there's only one tragedy left? 💋
Homegirl goes through the worst moments of her life, finds out her and her bestfriends friendship started on (somewhat?? Of) a lie, miscarries, then proceeds to get the life beaten out of her, and then kicks out the man she thought was the love of her life and future husband. I'm genuinely curious (and distraught) what MORE could go wrong?!? 😦😦😦
it’s an iwdfh fic, the real question is what COULDN’T go wrong
Girl you cannot be speaking... I've reread stuck in reverse and I Will more times than I can count, and a little birdy (our beloved iwdfh) has stated you have even more tragedy and angst in yo wips....

Chapter of Green Light up on ao3, for those waiting <3
Warnings for like, everything
This idea sat in the back of my head for 2 weeks before I actually drew it.
I find the concept of them being a "enemies with romantic/sexual tension" really fucking funny. Either that or Harley having a pathetic crush on her. FUCK.
