My second redheaded inspiration: Nancy Drew.

Nancy is the reason I wanted to be a detective as a kid: I even had her hairstyle for a while.

Her journey to being a ginger is fascinating, because she’s actually described as a blonde in the early books. But the cover art was misprinted, her blonde hair became red, and the writers ran with it. I can’t picture her as a blonde anyway.
