I am… not a chronologically locked rp blog.

That means that if you talk to me to establish that we want to ship our muses, or have a particular relationship or type of report between them, I am 1: totally okay with multiple threads of varying length and styles with you and 2: will probably jump around in the supposed ‘timeline’ of our muses relationships in order to keep things interesting/ make ask prompts work.

For example, we may be writing an intro thread with our muses, but if you wanna send me a thing for like… a first kiss that may happen months down the line (and shipping is what ur up for) go ahead and do it! The way I see it, separate points on a timeline are FUN to RP because then you can look back later and figure out how they connected/ try to work in little details that make them flow together.

also i think lyse is a really interesting character

not likable necessarily - not someone who is, right now, a great leader - but absolutely interesting

by the beginning of stormblood she’s lost almost everyone who really knows her, while simultaneously being thrust into the spotlight - she can no longer be yda’s shadow, or papalymo’s, she has to figure out who she is and she has no idea how to do that or who to be. she can’t scrape by on being a cheerful, plucky sidekick, and as one of the scions she’s expected to be a leader, and she’s woefully inadequate and she knows it.

and then the story really gets started and she’s faced with more and more loss (meffrid, y’shtola, conrad) and more and more frustration - she knows how to fight, it’s what she’s good at, but that’s not always the solution and she feels so lost and helpless to do anything. beating up the catfish was probably a high point for her, she was able to do something concrete to help and not feel like she’d screwed things up.

hien and alisaie both help her gain more confidence, and provide examples for her, and by the end of the base storyline she’s really started to come into her own. the red dress really is, despite it having been her sister’s, Lyse beginning to express herself confidently as Lyse. the scene feels a little vulnerable and very hopeful to me and despite the previous victories that was the point at which it finally felt like the WoL & co would be able to win.

stormblood really is Lyse’s story, her growth is a huge part of it, and i feel like a lot of complaints about her really miss that point
