Pairings: Jealous!Bad bunny x girlfriend!reader
Summary: After a conversation that left her questioning everything, Y/N decides to give Benito a taste of the reality almost created - only to discover that some words hurt more than intended.
-----------------------------
He had managed to convince you to go out that night, to grab a drink and dance at one of his friend's bars. At first, you'd been hesitant, still shaken by the conversation you'd had the night before, when he hadn't seemed particularly bothered by the idea of turning your relationship into an open relationship. He had never said he wanted one outright, but he hadn't dismissed the idea either.
You had pretended it didn't affect you. You had even laughed, calling him an "idiot" before brushing it off and changing the subject.
Earlier that day, he'd noticed you were a little off and suggested the two of you go out. Eventually, you'd agreed, thinking it might help clear your head.
Instead, it had done the exact opposite.
The conversation refused to leave your mind.
Benito, on the other hand, seemed to have moved on completely. He was laughing with Raúl, his friend and the owner of the bar. You were so lost in your thoughts that you hadn't even noticed when Raúl went back to work. You only came back to reality when you felt Benito's fingertips gently brushing your shoulder.
"¿Estás bien, bebé?" (“Are you okay, baby?”)
"Sí, tranquila... estoy bien" (“Yeah, don't worry… I'm fine.”)
He nodded, clearly unconvinced.
"I'm gonna grab another drink. Do you want anything?" you asked.
"No, I'll go for you. Stay here."
"No, really. I need to walk around for a bit. Don't worry, I'll go."
"Entonces te voy a estar vigilando." He smiled before bringing your hand to his lips and kissing it. (“Then I'll be keeping an eye on you.”)
You smiled back before weaving your way through the crowd toward the bar.
You could feel the lingering stares of a few men who hadn't seen you arrive with someone, but you chose to ignore them.
"Hola, ¿me puedes poner un daiquirí, por favor?" you asked one of the bartenders. (“Hi, can I get a daiquiri, please?”)
While waiting for your drink, your eyes wandered across the room in search of your boyfriend.
He hadn't moved from his seat.
But he definitely wasn't alone anymore.
A woman had taken your spot beside him, laughing at something he'd said. A wave of jealousy rose inside you when she casually rested her hand on his shoulder after taking a selfie with him.
He didn't seem uncomfortable with the interaction.
He seemed perfectly at ease.
And somehow, that was the part that irritated you the most.
"Entonces te voy a estar vigilando." Bullshit. (“So I'm going to be keeping an eye on you.”)
What kind of game was he playing?
Your heart started to tighten at the thought of him being intimate with this girl or with any other girl someday.
And then, you reminded yourself that you were stronger than that.
That he was the one who wanted you.
That he was the one who had made the first move.
"No tienes idea de lo mucho que me vuelves loco, cariño." He had told you that after your second time meeting. (“You have no idea how much you drive me crazy, honey.”)
You needed to remind him of all of that.
You needed to put him back in his place.
An open relationship? Well, let's see about that.
You decided to give him a little taste of what that potential life could look like.
You didn't think twice before turning your gaze toward one of the men who had looked at you when you first arrived at the bar. You gave him a seductive look, waiting until you caught his attention innocently before smiling at him.
He immediately smiled back.
A silent game of glances started between the two of you, and you began feeling guilty the moment you saw the man making his way toward you.
You gave Benito one last look. He was still talking to her.
"¿Quieres bailar?" (“Do you want to dance?”)
You jumped slightly at the sudden question, but quickly pulled yourself together. You took a sip of the drink the bartender had just placed in front of you, grabbed the glass, and followed the man onto the dance floor.
With his back turned toward you, he reached out his hand without even having to look back, making sure you wouldn't lose him in the crowd.
Once you were fully immersed among the other dancers, he turned around, spun you around, and the two of you started dancing.
At that moment, you had only one goal.
And you hoped it was only a matter of time.
"¿Cómo te llamas?" the man you were dancing with asked into your ear. (“What's your name?”)
"Sí, ¿y tú?" (“Yeah, and you?”)
"¡Oh! Mucho gusto, Luis, tú..." (“Oh! Nice to meet you, Luis, you...”)
A voice far too familiar interrupted your conversation.
"Oh, hey Beni," you said as you turned around, a smile already forming on your lips.
"¿Qué estás haciendo?" (“What are you doing?”) he repeated. "Is this how you're getting a drink at the bar?"
«Eh, wow, un momento… ¿vosotros estáis juntos? No lo sabía, tío ». Luis said, looking between the two of you. ("Eh, wow, wait… are you guys together? I didn't know man.")
"Don't worry, Luis, it doesn't bother him." you said, looking Benito straight in the eyes. "Right, Beni?"
You saw something shift on your boyfriend's face.
"Have you been drinking?" he asked.
But he didn't seem to be waiting for an answer, because he immediately grabbed your hand and pulled you away from the crowd, toward the back of the bar.
He was one of those privileged people who could move freely throughout the entire establishment.
He opened a door and pulled you inside before closing it behind him. You immediately recognized the room. Raúl's office.
"What was that?" he asked.
"What are you talking about?"
"Are you playing with me?"
He let out a frustrated breath.
You tilted your head slightly.
"I didn't do anything wrong," you assured him with a falsely innocent expression.
"Se está burlando de mí." he muttered. (“She's making fun of me.”)
"Hey! I understood what you said."
"That was the point. What was your deal with dancing with some guy while I was waiting for you?"
"Waiting for me?!" You scoffed. "Se está burlando de mí."
You looked at him, your eyes narrowing.
"So this is how you wait for me now? This is how you keep an eye on me? By flirting with the first woman who comes along the second I get up?"
"¿Qué?" he said, offended. "She just wanted a picture!"
"A picture, huh? Just a picture? Are you sure?"
He pinched the bridge of his nose.
"Is that why you did this? Because I talked to a woman who wanted a picture? That's why you decided to go dance with the first guy you saw?"
"I don't understand why this bothers you, Beni. You're the one who wanted this, right?"
"But what the hell are you talking about? What did I want?"
"An open relationship. That's what you said yesterday."
For a moment, he just stared at you.
You watched as the tension in his eyebrows slowly disappeared, as if he was finally understanding where you were coming from.
"That's what you said," you repeated, trying to hide every bit of emotion on your face.
But Benito was starting to know you too well.
Better than anyone. He knew when you were hiding your feelings. He took a step toward you, but you immediately stepped back, raising one finger between you as a warning.
"I’m not enough for you."
"Don't say that. I never said that."
"But that's what it means to me," you admitted, your eyes filling with tears.
"No. Don't call me that."
"Please don't cry. You know I hate seeing you cry."
You sniffled, wiping away a tear before lowering your head.
"You're the only person I want to be with," he confessed.
"Te lo juro." ("I swear")
"Then why did you say that?"
"But I didn't say anything, Y/N. I never said that was what I wanted."
"You didn't deny it. You could have told me it was something you could never imagine doing, but you didn't say any of that."
You heard him take a deep breath before stepping closer to you.
"Y/N", he whispered, lifting your chin so you would look at him.
"If my reaction shocked you, I'm sorry."
You didn't say anything. You just looked at him, quietly sniffling.
He ran his hand gently along your cheek.
"We talked about it with the guys at the studio, and I just wanted to share that thought with you. The same way I would have shared any other topic with you. Other women don't interest me anymore. It's only you. You're the person I wanted from the moment I met you."
A small smile appeared on your lips, and he smiled back.
You let him move closer to your face, and he whispered:
"And I better not see you dancing with—"
"Any man! Luis, Paul, Lorenzo, or even Raúl!"
"Then stop ruining my days."
"Ruining your day? Seriously?"
"Yes. That's exactly what you did."
"And what if I made it up to you? The day isn't over yet."
He said it while playfully trying to bite your chin.
You immediately started laughing, and he felt his heart warm at the sound of your laughter.
That was the version of you he loved the most.
He didn't waste another second before kissing you and whispering against your lips:
