“I’m against needless executions.” Jane was a gang leader, sure, but she was human. While many people liked to think of leaders as ruthless tyrants with an insatiable bloodlust, Jaein was anything but. Even if most of the leaders in this city were merciless, she liked to think she was different. She wasn’t born into the life of crime. She wasn’t raised on the streets or hardened into a criminal by severe hardships. Up until she was a teenager, Jaein had been coddled for the most part. Her parents were aging and they cared for her with ever ounce of their being, as if she were their own. She had been raised by humanity and taught to seek the good in people. It was part of the reason that she had come to Korea in the first place. To look for her birth parents, to fill in the blanks of her story and maybe figure out her real purpose in life. Even though she’d been yanked down the rabbit hole into this life she loved how, Jane refused to let it strip her of her humanity.
“You know that.” Her voice was strong and unwavering, but there was a noticeable hint of remorse. It was one of the things that came with this life. The inevitability of death loomed over all humans, but for them it was worse. For them, the clouds were darker and hung much lower. “I know they need to be punished, but I don’t want to go overboard. Killing them won’t teach them anything.” @shihikoxomnia
“Ugh, you’re like the fucking martyr of all mafia leaders.” He replies back to her, not even putting an effort in covering up the disgust in his voice. Shihiko rested his legs on top of the coffee table of the room, slouched lazily on the couch. They were discussing about a recent traitor, something that nobody was really fond of unless said traitor was working for you. “But, you’re the boss and your word is law. So, my hands are tied.” He admitted anyways whilst raising both hands up in a mock action of surrender.
As much as the blond hated the goody-little-two-shoed personality of Jaein, he had to hand it to her that she knows how to run a gang pretty smoothly. If it wasn’t for her excellent leadership skills, Shihiko would’ve had half the mind to over-throw her already. “For all I know, you just hate executions.” He waved his hand off dismissively.
“But, the problem is still at large. We can’t let him go or else he’ll spill. And I would obviously refuse to pay even a cent to keep his mouth shut.” He sufficed to the other. “What I would suggest is, that not even you would probably disagree is: me roughing him up a bit you know?” He offers the solution to her, a mischievous smile evident on his lips.
“I'll even spare you the beautiful unsavory details. Just give me the go signal, I’ll have a couple of my guys get him and we’re off to a little underground wonderland and bam, he’s out of our hair for good.” Shihiko tells her simply as though he was just planning a boys night out with someone. “And I’ll make sure that little mouth of his will be closed for good.”
