Dappled moonlight drifts down through the canopy. M9D-846 is more alien than most planets they have visited. The foliage here carries a purple tint, a magenta hue that permeates the grass and leaves and casts illusory shadows in the corner of the eyes despite the striking jewel tones of the forest. Even the curve of the sky is especially brilliant, a deep indigo at the height of the blazing sun.
