A soft gasp meets this reply. Rico touches his cheek gently. It was so cute. He doesn’t reply for a while, instead thinking about it carefully. His funding could support another, and a quick search provided him with the care needs of both stages. It didn’t seem all that different from his swirlix. They cold even eat most of the same meals.

That would be easy to arrange, si. There’s no issue with that my end. Do you think she would get along with Panna Cotta?

If only Starr could see how Rico’s reacting. It’s even better than she could have expected.

I’m almost certain she would. To be perfectly honest, I caught a second hoping you’d say yes (though I would have made sure she was taken care of if you didn’t!) and told her I had a friend who might like to meet her, so she’d know she’d be travelling abroad. I didn’t want her to feel like I caught her just to abandon her. But she actually seems pretty excited!

Let me ask, before I send her - Milcery need an item and a specific interaction with their Trainer to evolve. They like to dance! Which is another reason I thought you might get along. =) Do you want me to give her a Sweet to hold on the way, so you can evolve her yourself, or should I take care of it before she comes?

I have not seen either of those before! They look so friendly and sweet. What are they? I take it you obtained a new friend on your trip. Say hello for me!

Rico looks at the pictures again and makes a kissy face. Adorable. They look like they might get along with his swirlix, and his love of grooming. He shows them to a coworker who laughs.

“So that’s the reason for the faces.”

“What faces?”

“Never mind, Doctor.”

“What faces!?”

What faces, indeed. Starr is probably already imagining half of them herself. (The other half, as imagined by her, are more akin to something produced by a photo booth, complete with kawaii stickers. Mostly hearts and sparkles.)

I did! And I will! I’ll have to get some pictures of mine later. She’s got her hand in my cup right now.

(She pauses to switch to the camera app, and takes a shot of said hand in said cup.)

The smaller one is called Milcery, and the other is its evolution Alcremie. They’re pretty common in Galar, apparently. Fairy-types, all the café workers have a few. You can probably see why!

I was actually wondering if you might like to have one, too? There aren’t any restrictions on taking them to other regions, at least from this end, and I'm sure you know Aether’s protocols well enough to get her cleared! She seems like she’d fit right in. =)

[ It’s present time for @komala-scientist! ]

Seated at the bar inside the Wyndon North Pokémon Center, Starr sips a hot Roserade Tea while studying the Monster Ball in her other hand. It’s a Premier Ball, gleaming white with that single, ribbon-like red stripe. There’s no real reason for what it holds to have been placed in that ball, specifically. She’d just used it because she’d thought it was pretty; because it goes well (in her oh-so-fashionable opinion) with the Pokémon inside.

(Though they do say Premier Balls are meant to commemorate special events, and she’s hoping that’s what this will turn out to be.)

Every bone in her body is vibrating with excitement at the thought of just putting it straight into the transfer system and sending it off to its new home (it’s quite possible she’s made entirely of sunshine and sugar and brightening someone else’s day is also how she brightens her own), but... No, it might be better to ask first, just in case. It’s not native to Alola, and the facility it’s going to has protocols for incoming Pokémon no matter their origin.

Eventually, a PC Box at the Aether Foundation pings with a message for Rico. It’s from [email protected], and it’s written exactly the way it would probably sound spoken aloud.

Like, no lie, almost since Alcremie was announced I have been tossing around the thought, “Fuck the timeline where they don’t know each other that well yet; Starr would 10000% send Rico a mystery ball while she’s on her Galar trip,” but then she started worrying about whether the non-native Pokémon part might upset him more than be a squeeful surprise and we didn’t do it. ]

[ So, yanno, he could very well totally end up with one yet. <.< ]

[ I was getting some thread tracking going, and I realized that the last time I responded to any of Starr’s threads was in freaking September. X_x ]

[ And I know I’ve posted both the ‘I’m fixated on another muse at the moment’ and ‘If I’m slow, it doesn’t mean I don’t still want to play with you!’ disclaimers, but holy wow, even with that I did not mean to let those fall behind for this long. ]

[ I have pretty severe dyscalculia, the kind that affects not only math skills, but things like spatial relations and marking the passage of time as well. And what happens is I straight-up lose track of it: Obviously I’m aware of things like the sun coming up and going down and that days are rolling over, but I don’t...really grasp how many have rolled, if that makes sense? To me it feels like just a few, and then I look at a date and it’s been weeks. ]

[ So most of the time if I’m letting things go to that extent, chances are that it started out with me being in “Cannot cope, off to Mordor” mode, but then spiralled into just not knowing when I am. Which is also how I end up in the “Going to get to these soon! / Soon becomes apparently never” situation. Road to hell and good intentions and getting lost along the way, and all. >.< ]

[ Anyway, felt bad, wanted to give more of an explanation than just, “Bad with time,” really am hoping to get some stuff out now that writing’s coming more easily again, but I guess we’ll see. ^^’ ]
