i studied english language and culture at uef, minor in literature, have also minored in media studies and swedish
i got into uni in 2014 but due to a whole bunch of (mostly mental health related) reasons only completed my bachelors in anglophone literatures in spring 2020. spent an entire year on the other side of the country studying journalism but it didnt work out and i realized i just wanted to write shit and analyze lit so i 🎶Came Back🎶 where i started
and uhh since i Am dealing with a lot of mental health shit im gonna go ahead and warn yall right now that i Will be using this blog to vent about shit if it has a direct effect on my studies, which it often does. so an all around cw for suicidal ideation and self harm talk goes here
did my bachelors thesis on stephen kings the shining. analyzed the various elements used to create horror and suspense in each torrance family members' narrative and concluded that yup, if you inspect their narratives separately, they all are indeed full of horror and suspense But each narrative is scary for different reasons. wild i know
as of september 2022, the tentative title of my masters thesis is “You Take Yourself with You, Wherever You Go”: Representations of Trauma in Stephen King’s The Shining (1977) and Doctor Sleep (2013).
