Love the idea of aroacespec Grace and too-busy-being-dictator-to-entertain-the-thought Stratt not noticing even a little bit that they act too familiar. The Vatt sees Stratt steering Grace somewhere with a hand on the small of his back and go "👀😏" meanwhile the two of them are just like "ah yes very efficient for navigating crowds quickly :)". Really enjoying the idea that Grace's angry outburst in Denmark became a meme. The Angry Scientist. It shows up in discussions of egregiously bad sci-fi movies and arguments with antivaxxers and astrophage deniers, in forms ranging from pristine screencap to super-crunchy jpeg. There's an animated parody in the style of Ace Attorney. His students use it without realizing it's him.

In his first week on the Gansu six different people asked him about it and four asked Stratt why she hired Angry Scientist Meme guy.

You’ve heard of “you don’t even have a dog” and now for the Marissa fans out there might I suggest people saying to her post-launch:

“You weren’t even together.”

Marissa being legitimately heartbroken and everyone seeing her grieving and unless they happen to know both her and Ryland the FIRST thing they ask is almost always “Were the two of you an item?”

And when she says no then it becomes “did you want to be?” “did you see him as a brother instead?”

Marissa feeling hurt and frustrated because isn’t it enough that they were friends? Is twenty years of late night conversations, inside jokes, tears, laughter, Thursday dinners like clockwork—is that not enough to say she loved him, plain and simple? Is she not allowed to grieve this way, like a piece of her was torn out without anyone even telling her?

But star-crossed love isn’t for friends, they say. It just doesn’t make a good story.

human!rocky with an AAC who uses pretty much the same grammar as canon rocky. occasionally people will ask grace why he talks like that (even if rocky is right there) and rocky's reaction to it is wholly dependent on the age of the person. example:

child: mr. grace, why does mr. rocky talk like that?

rocky, with a big smile: is faster! rocky want to keep up with conversation! can't talk normal same speed with device as you can with voice.

grown ass adult: dr. grace, may i ask why your companion speaks... the way he does?

grace: well, he's — [gets elbowed] oh, rocky's telling you, hold on

rocky: ...

rocky: ...

rocky: ...

rocky: As I'm sure you can imagine, it takes considerably more time for me to respond in entire grammatically correct sentences due to the limitations of my device. Most natural communication does not allow for ten full seconds of dead air at regular intervals. Also, you're a dick.
