The Best [advice]: The best writing advice I ever received was in a fortune cookie that said: “the work teaches you how to do it.” The work, the art, whatever you wish to create, is the best teacher—an organizing intelligence begins to reveal itself only when you start writing. So get to work! The second best writing advice is Goethe’s “do not hurry; do not rest.”

Oh hey, fans of the old Thief video game series, there's an official backing in the works that will offer a graphic novel, maybe a plushie and other goodies. I'm intrigued.
Edited to add: Hmm, maybe a bit less intrigued now, given the quality of the product the company made before: https://www.reddit.com/r/Thief/comments/1uei1rl/new_thief_graphic_novel_announced/
From Thief PoP Official - A New Heist Awaits in Thief: Pulse of Promise
the name of the piece is "Replica of a Chip", and it was woven by Marilou Schultz. here is a good blog post about the piece, the weaver's current work, and a history of the Navajo nation's involvement in the semiconductor industry:
Hurrying through the National Gallery of Art five minutes before closing, I passed a Navajo weaving with a complex abstract pattern. Suddenl
Replied to a recent comment on a fic that I wrote years ago and then took the time to revisit previous comments and I say this with complete sincerity:
Leaving a comment on a fic provides compounding delight. Authors will love initially receiving a comment, will love later recalling this and that particular aspect of a comment, and they will love rereading comments and being reminded how readers enjoyed the work.
Comments are not a one-time act of kindness and consideration. They keep giving.
Thank you to those who take the time to give a nice word, describe an excited reaction, point out favorite parts, and generally let it be known that not only has the work been read but it had some effect. :)

Anyone else feel different after that scene in Masters of The Universe (2026) where Skeletor uses the head of his staff to force one of his large, bestial henchmen down into a kneel and proceedes to press the henchman’s face into the ground and growl “Lower” cause uh…. Yeah…. Anyone? Or just me?
When was the last time I sketched anything on paper? Idk but I did some so maybe I’ll post ’em too
iPad have such a nice quality 👌
I loved the Masters of the Universe movie. It's campy, visually stunning, shockingly well-cast (I don't care for Jared Leto but Skeletor was A+++) and lots of fun. I'm coming into it with nostalgia glasses, as a kid in the 80s, but those without nostalgia would probably enjoy it, too.
Could've used a little more Evil-lyn but that's OK. Also, be sure to stay for the three (3!) mid- and end-credit scenes.
i do appreciate the way that we tumblr users have evolved our language to discuss our feelings related to The Character/The Guy. you used to have to just say he was hot or he was making your ovaries explode or he was a precious cinnamon roll even if he looked bad or was just kind of standing there or whatever. now you can say things like “the creature” or “he looks so sopping wet here” or “i want to chain him to my radiator” like it’s just more inclusive and adaptable to the situation
as someone on the asexual spectrum, this shift in language genuinely made me feel more comfortable and happy in fandom spaces. i've never once wanted to lick a man's abs. i HAVE wanted to chain a man to my radiator. and that's beautiful.
