I had a revelation the other night while I was watching The Lion King 2 with my roommate. So I remember being in love with Kovu (I mean who wasn’t?)—also side note for another discussion, why did we find those cartoon lions attractive?!—but I hadn’t seen the movie since probably 2004 when it came out. Anyways, upon the rewatch (which I highly recommend for some serious nostalgia btw) it clicked: this was the beginning of my “enemies to friends to lovers” trope obsession. And I kept getting MAJOR Bellarke vibes from little Kovu and Kiara. Like the class difference for example: he literally calls her “princess” because she’s a LITERAL PRINCESS. Also you cannot tell me Kovu and S1 Bellamy don’t have the same dark bad boy vibes (with a heart of gold underneath) going on. I mean COME ON LOOK AT THIS GIF ITS THE CUT SCENE FROM DAY TRIP!! Like omg wow I found the origin of my obsession and didn’t even have to go to therapy.

Last season Bellamy (the heart) saved Clarke (the head): he saved her head (literally her mind) by restarting her heart (ie. CPR + “once the head stops telling the heart to beat its over”). This season, we’re ~hopefully~ going to have Clarke (the head) save brainwashed Bellamy (the heart): she will save his heart (remind him to love “his people”) by using her head (ie. literally through memories in MCAP ~radio calls~).

The poetic justice will be *chef’s kiss* if it’s done properly.
