@shocking-star-blog
This blog is inactive, so....how the heck do people keep finding it and taking things from it...
are you still active? :0
ooc; Trying to be! Volkner's muse has always been a bit finicky for me; my inspiration for him comes and goes. I'm not a cold and standoffish person like he is, so it's kind of hard to sort of...grasp that. But challenges are always nice, right? I'm gonna give myself a week, and if the spot in my group isn't taken up again, I'll join. If not, I think I'll lay him to rest...
...And just keep this blog though, because wow, it took me a while to design it. And the URL is...well. I think it's pretty cool. = u =b
(( I'll put this account back into action soon I swear!! I'll either plan a few things with a few people, or just respond to some opens. Probably the latter, but we'll see. Hullo to all the people, and so excited to see some new reserves and interest in this brand new group!! ))

"Volkkkkk, I'm booored! Entertain meee."
"...That's what you get for leaving Meghan and me for your Elite training. Consider it your punishment..." The blonde eyed his friend testily and crossed his arms. "Besides, you know me. I'm...boring..."
Hey, Volkner! Nice shoes, but mine is way better than yours! Hahah.
"Oh. Thanks, I gue--"
"..."
"...Last time I checked, Bunearies were pretty girly."
So many people!
âNothing too bigâ he says, Candice crossed her arms and huffed a little, âand why would you do that?â After saying those words, she immediately followed that with a quiet âI donât mean to pryâŠâ She didnât know that the Sunyshore Gym was closed, she thought it was open as usual⊠Closing it seemed a bit sudden to her a little worrying too. Though, she didnât want to push it, afterall, she and Volkner werenât exactly best buddies. She looked at him, then at the ground, then everywhereâŠ
Candice snapped back to reality, âw-what do you mean by that?â She exclaimed, a little flustered. âJust because I can daydream doesnât mean I do it 24/7.â Candice said, her eyes closed, arms still crossed and brow a little furrowed. âSo whatâs been⊠Happening lately?â Candice asked, trying to change the subject a little from her attire. She looked around whilst squinting, hoping not to damage her eyes, the city was very pretty once she got a good look of it. Now Candice understood why it was called Sunyshore, the sun was really strong, the glare from the solar panels were slightly blinding.Â
"Because battling is boring now," he bluntly stated back. Volkner shrugged his shoulders, as if closing off one of the most important places for Trainers to go to was no big deal. "I'm allowed to take a bit of annual leave, so...I'm using it." As for the reason for it, well. He wasn't about to share, even if the girl before him was the runner-up for eighth Gym Leader.
"What's been...happening? Nothing...much, to be honest..." Boy, did she not dwell on things for long. Her glances kept going everywhere, making it all the more difficult for him to wonder if she was truly interested in talking to him or not. Volkner was even more distracted when the black-haired girl squinted her eyes. "...Hey, you okay?" He dug a hand into his jacket's inner pocket and handed her a pair of his sunglasses. "Take these for now... Since you're probably not use to all this sun from where you...come from..."

After stifling a giggle in reaction to Volknerâs initial greeting; Maylene scratched the back of her head sheepishly before answering, âIâm here to see you, of course!â She grinned, already taking the liberty of hugging the gym leader around his waist tightly â too tightly, since the pinkette wasnât quite aware of her actual strength.Â
âYou should be more welcoming to your challengers, Volk!â
The blonde raised a skeptical brow at the girlâs answer. ââŠMe? ButâŠwhy? Is there some kind of important business us Leaders are supposed to attenââ He immediately stiffened as he felt the girl bring him into a suffocating hug. If there was one thing he remembered about this Maylene, it wouldâve been her immense strength. Volkner quickly put an arm to the girlâs sturdy shoulder, trying to pry her off of him.
âA-Alright, alright,â he stammered through a few coughs, âIâll beâŠnicer. âŠBut itâs not like I couldâve identified you by the way you knockâŠâ Better yet, being nice was one thing Volkner failed in. In all aspects of it.
shocking-star started following you
Sunyshore City was Mayleneâs absolute favorite place to visit during the summer. It was the perfect place to go swimming, and not to mention, one of her best friends lived there!
So, naturally, Volknerâs gym was the first destination that Maylene found herself walking towards as she entered the bustling streets of Sunyshore. Much to the pinketteâs dislike, the cool breeze that the ocean brought in ruffled her hair and made it stick up even more then it usually did.Â
âHelloooooo? Anybody home?â She giggled, knocking on the gymâs doors in a musical manner. âVooooolkner!!âÂ
When Volkner had turned the sinkâs faucet off, he was half-saddened and half-annoyed to know that the incessant pounding sound at his Gymâs door hadnât gone away. âHow many times do I have to chase them awayâŠâ he mumbled to himself, blindly waving his arm for a towel to dry his face. One of the stray Shinxes that lived in the Gym wiggled its way to the small bathroomâs door, dragging a dry facecloth between its small teeth.
With a small sigh, Volkner took the towel from the little lionâs mouth and dabbed his damp face. For some reason, having to deny all these Trainers a battle seemed pretty embarrassing. Shooing them away only made him feel like an old man that chased kids off his lawn. And that was even more embarrassing. âCanât be helped, thoughâŠâ he mumbled, pushing his way out of the small powder room. He went down the Gymâs stairs and pushed the heavy doors aside, his face stone serious, as always.
âFor the last time, I told you kids that the Gym is cloââ
ââŠMaylene?â Well this was a surprise to see Veilstoneâs Gym Leader wander around his home turf. He found himself leaning against his opened doors, putting a shoulder to cool metal. âAnd what are you doing here, of all placesâŠ?â
â too sexy for my shirt.
Hearing that he came from here came as no surprise to the brunette. Heâd figured as much, so he didnât pay too much attention to it. Neither could he care about the somewhat aloof demeanor the male was displaying, since he hadnât been hoping for a friendly chat on the beach nor was he particulary looking for one. On the other hand, the added tidbit of information caught his attention. That guy was a gym leader too, huh? Weird coincidence, wasnât it? How he always ran into the big shots of the local regions was beyond him, even on the beach, but Green decided to roll with it.
âYou?â His tone almost sounded as if he was mocking the man, his eyes looking him up and down in a more evaluating manner. Then, a smirk tugged on his lips and he shot him a more pointed look. âListen up, that âkidâ is a gym leader himself. Youâre not a special snowflake or anything fancy like that.â Green didnât give a damn if he was a gym leader, a member of the Elite Four or Arceus itself - titles meant little to nothing to him. Not everyone could fully live up to them, anyway.
With the two men sizing each other up right now, it was almost ridiculous to see how their Pokemon behaved. The female Umbreon watched with piqued interest as the strangerâs Jolteon put on a display, appearantly just for her. Crimson eyes were locked on him and followed his every movement, perhaps in an attempt to form an opinion on the male. However, the way her ears were perked and her attention focused on him gave away that she was inclined to like the Jolteon. Thus, she was almost annoyed when his trainer interrupted and her ears flattened slightly, but she decided to brush it off. Albeit hesitantly at first, as if still unsure of her decision, she stepped forward towards the electric Pokemon and encouragingly nudged him slightly with her head.
â⊠really now?â Unbeknownst to his Umbreon, Green shared the blondeâs sentiment of not exactly being fond of this lovey-dovey behaviour. Heâd almost found it funny witnessing this from the Jolteon, but now that Ebony was beginning to join in on it - well, it suddenly wasnât as entertaining anymore. Shooting a glance at the other trainer, he didnât think twice about making a deadpan statement. âYo, your Jolteon is pestering my Umbreon. Canât you call it back or something?â Although he knew that Ebony did so on her own will, he personally couldnât quite agree with this.
The brunetteâs tone made Volknerâs blood boil. The heat that radiated across the beach only intensified the seething anger that raged within him. How he managed to keep a somewhat calm face was beyond him. âTch,â Volkner snorted back, giving a soft laugh at the otherâs confidence. Boy, was this guy a piece of work. It wouldâve been even more hilarious if the guy was actually his regionâs first Gym Leader in line. But for some reason, this guy came across as a more powerful Trainer â one who couldâve been the strongest and the last one in his league, like himself. What poor luck.
Volkner quirked a brow, however, when he heard the strangerâs reply. While defending oneself and reasserting that one was a Gym Leader was all fine and dandy, using the term âspecial snowflakeâ came across as a bitâŠchildish. âTrust me,â the blonde replied, smoothing a hand over his head, âI donât think Iâm special or anything. If I thought I was all high and mighty, I wouldnât even be here on a public beachâŠâ He felt like continuing, to tell the kid off about ditching his Gym Leader duties and not staying put in his own city was poor form. But then again he didnât want to come off as some old raggedy elder that corrected everyone he saw. Now that wouldâve been overkill. âBut congratulations on being a Gym LeaderâŠâ he sarcastically retorted, folding his arms across his shirted chest. âAnd Iâm guessing you specialize in Dark types, rightâŠ?â The blondeâs eyes glazed over to look at the Trainerâs Umbreon, who was just as curious about Blitzen as he was of her. The female Eeveelutoinâs nudge only confirmed her slight interest in the bouncy male, who was quick to duck his head down and nuzzle her head back in affection. And for the first time in a long while, he was mindful not to jab her with any bristles that were wrung around his neck â which was something that Blitzen failed to do whenever he launched himself atop his Trainer. Volkner couldnât help but make a face as he saw his Pokemon flaunt over the otherâs; it just made his conversation with the stranger all the more awkward. âBlitz,â he called out again, this time in a more firm, demanding voice. âWeâre done with our break, so letâs goââ
âYo, your Jolteon is pestering my Umbreon. Canât you call it back or something?â
â...And since when did you think you could call the shots?â he asked back through narrowed eyes. Ridiculing his title as a Gym Leader was one thing, but throwing around orders like it was no oneâs business was another. Perhaps it was because nobody really bothered to challenge his ways that Volkner was suddenly getting edgy on the guy. Either way, he wasnât about to submit to these guyâs conditions anytime soon. âWhy donât you call your Pokemon backâŠ?â And as he heard its ownerâs change of tone, Blitzen pulled his head away from Ebonyâs soft head and turned to look at Volkner, alarmed. Just as how Volkner wasnât about to obey the other humanâs commands, Blitzen wasnât set on complying to his Trainerâs demands, either.
Volkner, I found you~!
"And just where exactly have you been these past few months?"
"..."
"...But...I'm glad you found me. It's...been a long time..."
intro; [open post]
âThatâs kinda cruel, I remember the days when heâd hesitate to challenge me and I really donât want to crush his hopes and dreams too early in the year.â she said with a chuckle. Flint was a good guy, and the ray of red sunshine the would brighten up her darkest day. So she really couldnât risk killing his mood now. Although the league season isnât for a few more monthsâŠ
She gave him a curious expression the moment he finished his last question. Sure she didnât have time to just waltz around Sunyshore like she had nothing else to do. But true enough, Volkner was a dear dear friend of hers and she would do anything to make him smile.
âOf course Iâd do that for you Volks, you are my friend after all so why wouldnât I?â
"He's a tough guy, he can take it," he replied simply, letting a nonchalant hand of his wave in front of Cynthia's face. "You're always such a softie when it comes to him. Keep that up, and he'll get spoiled, yeah?"
The Champion's question had clearly caught him off guard, finding himself stiffen as she expected a reply. He hadn't heard the term 'friend' for the longest time -- it would take some time getting used to it once more, seeing as how Cynthia had come for a brief visit to Sunyshore.
"'Course we...are," he replied slowly, blinking. "I guess when you put it that way, the right answer to accept should be...pretty obvious, right?"
â too sexy for my shirt.
A âvacationâ. The word alone sounded almost foreign to the brunette, no matter how he tried to look at it. It was rare for him to get out, even more so to get out of Kanto - it actually happened almost never and thus he was clearly trying to enjoy this as much as possible. Heâd have to go back eventually and until then, heâd do whatever he wanted without any restrictions. So, his first stop had been the beach since this was basically something he could never properly savor back in Kanto.
Basically, Green was currently lounging on the beach and simply relaxed without doing anything in particular. The weather was particulary nice and the sun was shining down from a cloudless sky, thus having him take the opportunity to lay down topless and stretch out on a towel. Heâd shielded his eyes with sunglasses, although they werenât necessary to wear since heâd closed his eyes in the first place. His Umbreon was laying on a smaller towel right next to him, her crimson eyes scanning the area despite her otherwise relaxed pose. This was perhaps the only reason why she noticed the yellow shape heading straight towards them before her trainer even knew what was coming. Ears perked and eyes fixed on the Pokemon rushing closer, she smoothly got up from the towel.
Color her surprised when a Jolteon stopped right in front of her, appearantly being rather interested in her presence. Glancing at the male Eeveelution, she seemed indecisive as to how to react to his sudden appearance, but eventually she was inclined to show some curiosity towards him as well. All of this hadnât gone unnoticed by her trainer, however, who sat up straight and eyed the unknown Pokemon, that had pretty much come out of nowhere, with mild interest.
A Jolteon? Now, that definitely hadnât been there before. Idly brushing off the sand that had been brushed on his towel, his gaze only averted when the silhouette of a man approached them. Green guessed that this might be the Pokemonâs owner, so he casually pushed up the sunglasses to meet the manâs look. âNo big dealâ, he simply replied and didnât particulary care about the interruption. Quickly looking the stranger over, he decided to add a small, âYouâre from around here?â While he wasnât really interested, he figured he might as well throw him a line or two.
The blonde had to suppress a twitch of his lip once he saw the young man close up. The whole sunglasses, the little towel for his favorite Pokemon, the bottle of sunscreen to his side...it just read cocky all over. But at least the brunette was being somewhat polite by saying it wasn't such a big deal; after all, Volkner was expecting a rude frown and a whiny voice about how he and Jolteon had interrupted his frivolous tan. Nevertheless, he decided to answer the boy's question as briefly as possible.
"Yeah, I'm from here," he replied, rather monotonously. "I'm the Gym Leader, too, if that means anything to a kid like you." But seeing as how the boy was too caught up in relaxing, he figured he may as well have been a tourist.
And while Volkner was trying to contain his exasperation with the human owner, Blitzen wasn't trying to suppress anything at all -- rather, he was trying to exert his best traits over towards the Dark female. He straighten himself out and puffed out his chest, with his head held high and at attention. The Electric Pokemon paced a few steps across the hot sand, pivoting his paw and spinning around to pace back and forth as if to display himself to the other.
The blonde turned a give a stray glance over at his Pokemon, only to smack a hand to the back of his hand in agony. "Ugh..." he muttered, feeling his shoulders slump in shame. "What the hell are you doing, Blitz..."
He bent down to prick one of Jolteon's white spikes, but felt his Pokemon shrug him off as if he didn't exist. Volkner's face soured in response, knowing how much his Pokemon wanted to impress this little lady. Why did his Jolteon have to be such a flirt? Why couldn't he be more mature and dignified like Luxray...? But the more the Gym Leader thought about this and attempted to drag his Pokemon away, the more Blitzen resisted and tried to cover up his Trainer's mistakes by giving a deep growl to show his intimidating qualities, or crouch down to show how sheen and fit his body was...
...It was a scene known all to well on a beach.
