Candice’s brows furrowed a little at his condition, his coughing and inability to keep his head up worried her a little, well, quite a lot. Glaceon settled next to her feet, warily looking Thorton, noticing his Porygon-Z’s constant beeping and nudging Candice’s leg slightly. The Gym Leader, too, caught onto the Pokemon’s beeping, it was erratic and sounded quite worried for semi-monotous beeps. She waited for a reply, but figured there’d be no use since he couldn’t even seem to stay awake, standing back up straight again, she looked around to see if there were any field medics or just anyone who could help. Alas, nobody. Not a single soul in sight, only the open, white route before her and this boy.
She glanced down at Glaceon, wondering what to do, however some rustling beside her. In his pale fingers was a card, one she recognised to be official. She carefully took the card and looked it over, seeing the name, date of birth and occupation (plus other miscellaneous details), Candice understood that he was Thorton, the famous electronics/technology kid who wasn’t actually a kid but looked kind of like one. She’d heard of him before, but she didn’t think she’d ever meet him in real life, let alone in a small snowstorm. Her eyes flitted back up, glancing at Thorton.
Panic coursed through her, not sure what to do as she saw his eyes drooping a little. It was already serious enough that he couldn’t answer a question, a simple one at that, but now he also seemed to be losing consciousness. Candice had heard of people dying in these kind of incidents, generally those who never really came to Snowpoint or those who just weren’t well adjusted to the cold. ‘That’s a bit morbid’, she thought. Acting quickly, she tried to carry Thorton, he was light, maybe around the same weight as her, though she still struggled to carry him without feeling awkward herself. She let Glaceon lead the way, since Thorton’s head/hair was blocking her view, she could only rely on her trusted Pokemon, following his tail. Glad that the Frontier Brain was in a sort of dazed state, she carried him, hoping to get back to Snowpoint in under 20 minutes…
She figured that the walk (or trudge rather) from here to Snowpoint City would take about 10 minutes on a fine day, however, under these circumstances it seemed that it’d take even longer. Though if push comes to shove, Candice could risk sending out her Abomasnow or Staraptor to send Thorton to the Pokemon Centre… The end of the route came into view, a wide gap inbetween the trees leading to the Acuity Lakefront, she could feel Thorton’s breaths (as creepy as that sounded), they were deep and subtle, but still there… Snapping out of her thoughts as she heard the Factory Brain’s Pokemon beep beside her, she quickly made her way to the Lakefront, usually the weather there was a little clearer than out here.
