This has been my main argument against "AI" from the very beginning.

OpenAI scraped the entire web. All of which had been a labor of love from humans. Wikipedia is the backbone of a lot of LLMs, and that was volunteer human labor. They stole it and now they're selling it back to us.

And worse, they're trying to destroy the free sources that they stole from. It's destruction of human knowledge on an unprecedented scale. The burning of the library of Alexandria has nothing on this.

a follow up to this post i made yesterday about my oc Bongo. i imagine Grace would go full middle school teacher mode when describing weed to Rocky. he probably more or less has a prepared speech that he goes to when his students ask too many questions. his explanation starts scientific (what THC does to the brain) and then veers into peer pressure and responsible choices, at which point he has to stop himself because Rocky is a grown man.

i spent wayyy too long thinking logistically about how Eridians would use drugs. “Aliens have mind-altering substances that they use recreationally too” is my personal “water is not necessary for all life.” i settled on a gas-based system that goes through the vents on their carapaces as opposed to something edible because this is supposed to basically be Eridian weed, and it makes it a lot less fun if Eridians can’t get high together because of social taboo.

This is Cardboard!! The delivery Eridian who uh, is not great at it's job lol. It loves to pick things up and put them in the hollow divot in it's carapace, but often forgets where it's going, which is especially not helped by how klutzy it is because of it's unique resonance that confuses its senses when it's not paying careful attention

Cardboard tends to run off with a lot of Grace's things because it wants to be as helpful as possible! But it doesn't actually understand Grace most of the time lol
