Head bobs as eyes flutter shut, the effects of his long hours of labour beginning to take it’s toll. He had been working out in the fields all afternoon trying to plant new crops, without taking a moments rest but now he’d allowed himself a few peaceful moments, his exhaustion was quick to weight him down and draw him closer to land of his dreams. i really want to do an arrange marriage au. i want to do a thread where marriage is arranged before tae-jun’s character development and they’ve met but his wife to be completely hates him. then it comes to meeting again and preparing for the wedding at much to their surprise tae-jun is a completely different person to what they remember because it’s been a few years since their first meeting. or instead of them meeting before his development, his wife to be has only heard rumors of what he used to be and now what he is now and so she is completely dreading the time where they have to meet and get married. but once they do meet she’s completely blown away by the fact he’s nothing like how the rumor depicted him to be.

  小さい It wasn’t hard to recognize the stranger’s clothes as something that belonging in the fire tribe capital. It had been a while since he’d seen that style of clothing, the guards didn’t even find his village worth plundering, but the image had been seared into his brain when they had taken the able bodied people from his village. Including his parents.

  But that was a long time ago and this man didn’t have a group of angry, sword wielding soldiers with him. From the safety of the hut he carefully peeked out the window to see what was going on. It seemed dangerous, too good to be true really, could the capital finally be sending people to fix things? At the least, maybe he would be able to steal food from this man. So, stepping out from the hut he took his chances. “Who are you?”

     Just how many Fire Tribe villages were left abandoned? He’d lost count on how many he’s seen now but even so, it still shocked him to see so many barren villages; he just couldn’t believe his father, as well as King Il ----- someone whom supposedly hated this kind of thing ----- allowed this to happen. But it’s not like he was any better, he was just as bad and that’s exactly why he felt it was up to him to chance this land. If with his power he could somehow help his people, then that was what he was going to do; he will eradicate all the darkness from the Fire Tribe.

        He began barking his orders without a moments haste, ordering his soldiers to hand out clean water to the people before they begin work on building a clinic. Tae-Jun was about to set out to help himself when the younger child approached and the first thing he noticed was the hollow look in his eyes ----- he must be starving.  ‘ I’m Kan Tae-Jun. ‘  He replied without hesitation; he was no longer cautious with giving his name, even if he was met with hostility by some of the villagers.  ‘ I’m here to help this village. ‘

       He was dreaming, that much he knew. He was dreaming of his childhood, back when everything seemed so simple —– when he thought the Fire Tribe was a peaceful place to live. The thought of his father betraying their country seemed impossible back then, a thought that had never once crossed his mind; even he first learned of his fathers betrayal, he thought it was impossible —– he just couldn’t believe it. Part of him missed and longed for that time; he wished he could go back and relish in the prosperity of his childhood. But that was nothing but a selfish wish and he knew better now; there was no way he could go back, there was no way he could leave the Fire Tribe citizens to suffer while he continued to live in luxury. Not when the Princess relied on him to help his people.

        It was at the thought of the Princess that had his mind drifting away from his childhood and towards reality, while he became mildly aware of the sensation of fingers combing through his hair. It felt nice and calming and he found himself drifting back into the land of sleep as his memories fell back into the past. With the fingers gentle entwining with his locks, he began to think of the many moments where his mother used to do the same whenever he awoke from a nightmare. To rid him of his fear and calm his nerves enough to sleep again, she’d sit with him while whispering sweet nothings as her fingers combed through his hair. But that was nothing but a distant memory now, which made him quick to realise; these weren’t his mothers fingers —– whose fingers were they?

         Not a moment later his eyes fluttered open and he blinks once, twice and then a third time to rid his eyes of sleep. His mind was still muddled by a cloudy haze of sleep but the moment he caught sight of crimson locks fluttering in the afternoon breeze, his eyes snapped open wide with the realisation that it was Princess Yona’s fingers entwined in his hair. But not only that, he also became aware of the warmth that emitted from his pillow, something which was odd considering he was lead beneath a tree, staring up towards Yona’s beautiful face.

         Wait…. Princess Yona….?

                                                                   Hold on… Princess Yona!

         Just like that Tae-Jun shot up suddenly, face glowing scarlet and his eyes bulging. His mouth fell agape as began spluttering words of nonsense, which sounded more like gurgling infant noises rather than actual words. He’d been using Yona as a pillow? Yona actually let him use her lap as a pillow? But now only that, she was also entangling her fingers within his hair, combing through it while he slept peacefully on her lap! Tae-Jun couldn’t believe it; he couldn’t even begin to fathom the thought. Was he still dreaming? Surely this was still a dream; it seemed to good to be real! This was real, right?

         ‘ P-P-Princess…..! I-I…. ‘  Not a single coherent thought or sentence could be made and all he could do was choke on his words as his mind raced and his heart thundered in his chest. Well, if this turned out to be his last day on earth at least he knew, he could die a happy man because this was definitely a dream come true.

       I am eagerly awaiting the day when someone makes a Heuk-Chi because          I really need the banter between Tae-Jun and Heuk-Chi tbh and I say banter          but it’s just Heuk-Chi being a little shit to Tae-Jun and I think it’s beautiful.          But my hope for a Heuk-Chi appear is very small.
