Another Reindeer on 32ct opalescent stitched with Fox and Pirate Noel, classic colorworks Ruby Slipper, classic colorworks Queen Bee and Anchor 245. Pattern by ScreamingHeartDesigns.
Went to Dustin at Art and Frame Station since I didn’t want the Rensel treatment. I think he did a fantastic job and it was weird to have something back in 3 weeks instead of 2 years.
I picked a frame that gave me the feeling of roots that the Goblin fruit would grow in. Dustin picked the mats and I approved them.
I love how it turned out. Goblin Market from Counted Illuminations published in the 1990s. Stitched by me with DMC on fabric from Picture this Plus. Started September 2020 finished October 2025.
Started on the wedding quilt (only 6 years late) not sure I like the blue.
Finished Goblin Market. Pattern is by Counted Illuminations released in 1990. Yes the colors are dated but I still like it.

Last year I bought the most glorious rainbow fiber from Live and Dye LA named Taste The Rainbow. I was looking for the perfect project to use it on and found this.
I am so not a Quaker Sampler person. But it seemed like the perfect sentiment to hang in my middle child's home. But since the pattern is just a place to start, I got thinking how I could personalize this for them and get rid of some of the Quaker bits... and I got thinking about what happens at the table in their condo. There is much gaming done on the table and much food and much friendship. So I found a modification that works
Sparkly fabric and Taste the Rainbow fiber seemed perfect and dice are the perfect mod to make sure that Everyone feels welcome at the Table.

i’ll never forget the time like 10 years ago when i was calling my cat inside for the night (we found her as a stray and i didn’t know outdoor cats were bad yet, so we were slowly getting her used to living indoors). i kept calling for her over and over because she already knew her name (she’s so smart) but she didn’t always respond immediately and it usually took a while. so i was just standing in the backyard calling out into the night and eventually i saw a shape moving in the darkness. and i was like !!! yay!! kitty!! i see you cmere! come over here! and i swear the shape kinda stopped in its tracks, like in confusion, like asking “are you sure you want me to do that”. but i kept coaxing it closer, and then slowly trundling out of the shadows was a very confused opossum.
and we just stared at each other for a second not moving. and then i said something like. “uh. you’re not my cat. you can… you can go.”
and it just kinda turned back around and walked off into the night. my cat showed up a few minutes later but i’ve never stopped thinking about that
I would love to see someone do this as a graphic. It would be the cutest comic! I want to read about the lady who adopts a possum thinking she was bringing in her cat.

Aren't these the absolute best?
Sentinel by Fire Wings Designs has been an example of loving a piece but lacking the motivation to work on it. I started it January 2013 put in 750 stitches and let it sit for about 5 years. Then as I was sorting WIPs, I found it and wondered why I stopped working on it and added another 300 stitches and realized that I needed better glasses amd put it up for awhile again.
Come 2020, I had plenty of time to stitch and played Animal Crossing instead. The picture at the top is where I started the year with 3 pages completed out of the 9.
This week, I'm working on pages 5 and 6. Page 9 has about 20 stitches on it. I should finish it next year.
Many years ago I made a baby quilt for my sister's baby. I think it may have been one of the last quilts I made. Same sister promised my niece I would make one for her baby and for her sister who was due the following month. I haven't quilted in ages. And I remember minky being nasty to work with. So I schlepped to the fabric store and picked out stuff in the pink and blue the nieces requested.
Back in the day when I made the baby quilt minky was the softest stuff you could get. At the fabric store an employee suggested I try this other stuff that is thicker than minky and softer. It's only as they are cutting it, they tell me it's a directional fabric and will shred if I try to sew it the wrong direction.
So now my head is terrified that if I cut it wrong I will have no fabric and no quilts. So my patchwork tops sat for over a year. Then today, after hearing that the baby boy is now one, I called in sick to work and cut the fabric. It shed all over my office
But I have two finished quilt tops.
Years ago I would have borrowed a friend's long arm and quilted these myself but I hate this fabric. I'm going to have a hard enough time binding these.
My husband keeps asking why I'm even making these since my sister committed my time and money - did I mention she didn't pay for any of the fabric? - I'm low contact with my family as they have no concept of boundaries and this is a perfect example.
I'm happy with the quilt tops but pissed at how much it's going to cost in time and money to finish them. But I'm trying to be positive while working on the quilts because the babies don't need any negative energy.
I hit my goal this month. I added 3216 stitches this month to Secret Carousel by HAED. I was aiming for an average of 100 stitches a day and I got 216 over. I have completed the first row of the graphed squares. For those unfamiliar a graphed square is 100 stitches (10×10). I'm 7.82% finished with the entire project. At 100 stitches a day I will finish it in 10 years.
Other things I worked on this month:
Storied Steeds - working on the backstitch outlines.
Kingdom of Books, the goal was 600 stitches I did 1654
Jack Frost's Tree Farm - finished the middle section. It's stitched one strand floss over 1 fabric thread on 28 count even weave. Starting the cocoa stand now.
Lilac by Nora Corbett - finished my goal to complete 10% of the project for this year. She may or may not get touched again in 2025.
When they say the Western US has some beautiful yet barren landscapes, this is what they mean. Welcome to the Bonneville Salt Flats of Utah.
I don't think I ever shared the finished block of my Halloween cube and the Just Nan mice which go with it.
