"it would be so good if it was good" will haunt you but "it's extremely good, except for the one or two parts which are so bad it's genuinely kind of insulting" will straight up drive you insane
one has you making posts like "okay but if the author UNDERSTOOD the POLITICAL IMPLICATIONS of the story they were telling, and leaned into it, it would actually be a really interesting exploration of..."
the other has you pacing your bedroom at one in the morning going "why. why would you ever in a million years do it like that. genuinely what possible thought process was involved. was the writer possessed by a fucking ghost or something."
I don't know who my intended audience is here, so whoever needs to hear this, I am begging you to learn to participate in conversations that are about things you aren't interested in.
Part of socializing and having friends is being a good listener even when you don't actually give a shit about the subject.
Your are hurting other people's feelings when you bluntly respond with "Anyway..." and then change the topic.
It can not always be about your preferred topic.
You are being rude. Yes, even if you are neurodivergent. You can be both autistic and rude.

Today's update is actually an old preorder bonus comic. In older releases, Sensei offered one-page comics as these store bonuses. Basically, one store would offer one kind of bonus, another store would have a different offering, etc. Makes you think of which store you want to make your purchase in, huh?
I doubt these will get officially translated like the upcoming pieces we'll see in Vol 6, so I gave it a shot~
The original, if you want it~
Was driving with my grandmother and in broken English she says “no eyes… no nose… no face. Don’t trust.” To which I looked around wildly in search of this omen of ill portend.
Cybertruck. It was a cybertruck.
So Rocky has a bunch of permanent carvings along his carapace like family crest, rulers and protractors, marriage symbol, etc. I assume thats normal for Eridians, but the possibility that it's socially equivalent to getting full body tattoos for humans is funny. Imagine seeing this super inked out dude, but you look closer and its just a bunch of tattoos like.

no way i just saw people in tiktok comments crying screaming throwing up at the idea of aslan being a jesus figure. worsties the lion literally dies to save edmund (the sinner) and then rises from the dead. he tells the pevensies he can be found under a different name in our world. what else could this have meant
Reminds me of this meme:
A second 'Soldier Poet King' has hit the tiktok.
you are my favourite reblog on this post
KICK THE CAN!
Let’s play the biggest game of kick the can on the internet.
To kick the can, reblog it. I wanna see how long this can go on for.
the oldest reblogs for this post that i can find are from january 2nd of 2013. this can has been getting kicked around tumblr for almost 13½ years now
And yet somehow this is my first time kicking it!
First time kickin it, too!
People in stories who get a dramatic phone call always hop in their cars and go “I’m two hours away. I’ll be there in one hour.” and then they are. It’s always half the time. It’s never, “I’m two hours away. I’ll be there in an hour and fifty minutes.” And sometimes it not even life or death! Love interest will be like, “what are we?” and suddenly some subaru is going 150 mph up the median on I-5. Everyone’s gonna fuckin throw tomatoes at me and hiss for my brave, controversial take, but I don’t think you should tokyo drift thru a school zone just so you can eat pussy sixty minutes ahead of schedule.
God sometimes I'm writing smut and I'll like, delete a sentence because I'm like, no, I can't write that. It's too indulgent. And then it's like. Girl, what the fuck are you even going to the candy store for if you're just going to buy raisins. Get real.
"what the fuck are you even going to the candy store for if you're just going to buy raisins" is honestly the thing I needed to hear today

A problem with the whole Important Queer Media™ discourse is that a lot of folks don't seem to be able to parse "Important" as anything other than a moral judgment, and it's really not. Art is a dialogue. All works are in conversation with other works, and sometimes, works that have merit are deeply in conversation with works that suck. Acting like we can't talk about the latter at all is essentially demanding that we imagine an alternative universe in which those works weren't part of the conversation, yet somehow we ended up in the same place – and while alt-history may be a fun intellectual exercise, it's not a great critical lens.
"She Loves to Cook, and She Loves to Eat" special illustration by Sakaomi Yuzaki to celebrate over 1 million copies of the manga in circulation
Commemorative comment from Satoko Nagamura, who works with Kodomap, a nonprofit for lgbtq couples with a focus on parenting, and also the director of the documentary film, "Futari no Mama" (TL keeps having a fit with this one, but I believe it's best translated as "Just the Two of Us," BUT its also a pun: "Two Moms") The comment is translated in the alt text
"Futari no Mama" follows four same-sex couples in either their pursuit of raising a family or are currently raising a family – what it means to be a "family." As you know, Japan doesn't give same-sex couples all the same rights as hetero couples despite most of the country now adapting various forms of civil unions. Those unions don't give all the rights, unfortunately, and helping same-sex couples with kids is difficult. A "This is their journey/life" kind of film.
Here's an additional comment I found from Nagamura herself as she QRT'd the Tsukutabe post:
After seeing the hotness of Nomoto and Kasuga in the "1 Million" commemorative illustration, and seeing as I'm THE Tsukutabe drama fanartist, I just had to draw the dramaverse version
Oh dear goddess they're HOT. Can we get a Season 3 where the PR is this? I wanna see them like this!
