🪱 Intro Post 🪱

I’m still not entirely sure what to put on one of these haha.

Decided to make a new tumblr bc my old one I’ve had since I was like 14 and I wanted a fresh start.

Sydney / Vesper / Mars, you can call me any of these :3

I am 21 years old, and will update the intro as my age…also updates I guess.

My pronouns are he/they/it, and I am a gay asexual transmasc person, though I identify as gender non conforming.

(Edit, 04/05/25) I figured it’s probably good to mention that I have pretty bad social anxiety and I’m not very good at talking to or interacting with people. Sorry about that, I am trying my best! Feel free to talk to me anyway just know if I seem weird don’t be concerned I am just nervous.

Currently I am very invested in Camp Here and There, so most of what I post will probably be related to that! I am also currently into The Magnus Archives, the webtoon Cinderella Boy, and Warrior Cats as always. …also my OCs.

I will try to remember to tag my art under #my art but I have forgotten every time so…whoops.

I might update the intro post at any point with more information about myself if I ever so feel like giving it.

As someone with OCD I do genuinely think it's WAY more common than people think it is. People very much associate OCD with nothing except cleaning and washing your hands a lot, which is a gross oversimplification of contamination OCD itself, but OCD is a hugely complex condition that encompasses a lot of experiences and behaviors.

If you find your mind frequently latching onto thoughts or ideas that disturb or upset you, especially if you do things to try to alleviate those thoughts (like unplugging devices unnecessarily because you think a fire will start if you don't), please please please look into OCD. That includes obsessive thoughts about whether you're a good person, whether you're unintentionally abusive, past memories that make you feel stressed or anxious, the idea that you could hurt or kill someone, etc.

I agree, and as someone who doesn't have OCD diagnosed but does have an absolutely massive OCD risk, I think it is incredibly important to point out that while many childhood cases are recognized in teenage years and most unrecognized childhood cases are diagnosed in the early 20s, OCD is something that can hit you at just about any point in your life.

It is entirely possible to have sub-clinical symptoms, or to have an inclination toward using control to cope with anxiety, and then to develop debilitating OCD after a period of high stress or a few too many traumatic situations.

If you've recently started having obsessive thoughts, or if you've developed an anxiety around any form of ritualistic checking after a traumatic situation - that is a good time to look into OCD as well. You didn't have to do it as a kid to deal with it later in life, and you can develop it at any point.
