when Lilli Cooper (Velvette's VA) is asked about Velvette's fashion, she often mentions how much she loves her afro in the season 1 finale and now her boxbraids in the season 2 finale, and while she's absolutely right, they're both amazing looks, it's always a slightly sad reminder that despite Velvette's Thing being that she switches outfits every time she appears, and despite the numerous gorgeous hairstyles Black women have been wearing for centuries and inventing daily, the amount of times Velvette wears her hair in a distinctively Black style is, in fact, twice.

i’m trying my hardest not to come up with headcanons for velvette’s backstory. she’s my fave and i don’t wanna get disappointed like i was with vox’s backstory.

so far all i got is she first blew up around the myspace era but died before 2018. i think she died around 2010-2016. i dont think she died later than that.

she probably had a decent following on instagram before she died and carried that influence with her in hell which is how she got to overlord status in the first place.

velvette likely doxxed and cyberbullied others she didn’t like, mainly other influencer probably to the point of suicide. her deadly sins are likely envy & greed.

i like to think she’s the reason sinstagram exists. velvette likely fell down into hell around the time the app was popular so there weren’t any GOOD clones of the app yet. it’s probably how she first teamed up with vox.

and lastly, i’ll be shocked if velvette was actually a fashion designer when she was alive. the way i see it, she either wanted to or tried to advertise her clothing brand but it didn’t really go anywhere.
