Intro and Art Timelapse Sketches Youtube
I’m very saddened by Akira Toriyama-sensei’s passing. He was and still is a huge influence to me and many others in the art and storytelling world. Thank you Toriyama-sensei for all your amazing work you shared with all of us.
This is a robot design I had kicking around in my sketchbooks so I also decided to explore a bit further.
This is a character that came about as I was trying to show some of my growing interest in kpop but also still be within my art aesthetic. So this is a character showing their love for their favourite group.
I had imagined a character that would make the least likely warrior and it turned out to be a small kind of creature in an air tight bubble suit. A bit like Johann Kraus from the BPRD series but more fragile. My favorite heroes are the unassuming, least likely to achieve types. Inner strength appeals to me most.
This character was floating around in my sketchbooks for awhile so I took a little time exploring his design. Inspired by luchadors and a kind of bizarre scifi aesthetic. He's a gruff, big softy.
This is inspired by the number of times I've seen gum spat all over sidewalks, train platforms and bus stops. I don't know if it's as bad now but it was one of my pet peeves during commutes. Spitting gum or just spitting on public floors, and worst of all: snot rockets. Blegh! Don't do it!
This next character design is a skull brought back to life and placed in a type of robotic body suitable for space travel. Unfinished business. This will be available in my shop.
The character I have to share before the weekend is a little Phoenix. This Phoenix isn't too keen on the idea of death even if rebirth is totally the norm for their species. You can see the growing collection of illustrations in my shop.
The next card illustration is of a robot girl and a small creature surviving in a harsh landscape. The piece will be in my online shop.
Here is another character from the imagination. A grumpy alien for lack of a better term, forced to show a new friend around the galaxy. This piece will be available in my shop.
Here is another 6x8 card illustration of an original character design. This is a decommissioned war machine suit turned tool for caretaking.
I've been itching to share original art so here is the first of a series of 6x8 illustrations. A lot of these will be character designs I found interesting in my sketchbooks over the years and decided to explore further. This one is an Astro Demon Boy. Sketch will be available in my shop.
Continuing making sketches that are about movies I love, here is one for a movie I saw when I was probably too young to see it but I loved it anyway. Robocop is a solid movie and is one of my favourites of all time.
Vorpal Blade + Lucid Blade
Next up is a Bizarro Supergirl piece to add to the mix. Sketch will be up in the shop soon.
